Glad to see public pressure actually made a difference this time—this bill was way too heavy-handed from the start

Giving the government unchecked power to sidestep the legislature is a huge red flag, no matter the intention. Progressives should always push for more transparency and democratic oversight, not less. It’s good Eby admitted they messed up, but it’s concerning it got this far without those basic safeguards. Hopefully the revised version won’t trample on accountability just to score political points.
