If tuition were free, a lot more people would go to university or college because it's more accessible meaning more people in our future generation will be more educated and we will ave more doctors and teachers and other people in professions we need more of. Some kids, like myself, grew up never even considering going to college or university because they knew it was out of reach due to the cost, education should not be out of reach.

 @9WQ4K26from Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

I believe colleges and universities would be more accessible to society and lower income families creating a society with high education.

 @9WQ46XGfrom Manitoba  answered…2mos2MO

would create much more workers but colleges and universities would become overcrowded.

 @9WQ3PJWNew Democraticfrom Quebec  answered…2mos2MO

If it were free there would be students there just wasting time and space for students who really want to be there.

Access to free education and having more Canadians have some post secondary school education can benefit society. Increase education can help you think better out of the box, or give you the skills to research a belief and better identify exaggerated truth or lie.

 @9WP29SGfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

It should be free, it would help society and people don't have to worry about student loan debt.

 @9WMM5V4from Saskatchewan  answered…2mos2MO

there would be a greater lack of responsibility among the youth of the world.

 @9WLLZW6from Saskatchewan  answered…2mos2MO

College would be a joke. If you dont have to pay or earn something then it holds way less value. There should be a reason to go to school to improve your life.

 @9WL6S5Yfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Well the education provided would be of lower quality, maybe lower interest rates or set up programs for under privileged students.

 @9WJ3XRVfrom Alberta  answered…2mos2MO

I think It would be beneficial, do not put an age cap on it either, I believe a lot of Canadians simply cant afford it and need to start working full time as soon as they are done high school. Not putting an age cap on it either gives Canadians that did not have a chance to do so before an opportunity now with night classes being accessible.

 @9WDZMNDfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

If college tuition were free, access to education would improve, reducing financial stress for students. This could create a more skilled workforce and lessen income inequality, benefiting society with increased innovation and social mobility. Overall, it would promote lifelong learning and enhance quality of life.

I believe it would open opportunities for people who struggle with financials to help them better themselves

 @9W8NJ85Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

More students would be able to become doctors, for instance, and that could help the healthcare problem

Education should be accessible to everyone. There are too many barriers for marginalized groups to have equal influence in our current system.

 @9W6VFCQfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Free tuition could lead to more people that have the ability for a profession to be in more appropriate positions.

 @9W6SMJ8from British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

I think that this could effect the economy slightly, and this could change the diffuculty of how people work and their effort into their jobs, but from my perspective as a high-school student, this is enticing however, this makes it seem that it wouldnt be as high of a qualty of schooling.

 @9W6KT3Dfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

I think a postsecondary education would be super common and the education would be higher.

 @9W6FQXJfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I feel like that there would be a need for more employment because of the amount of people that have a greater education / tuitions.

 @9W6FGPVConservativefrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I believe that people will misuse the system the same way people are taking high school and even elementary for granted.

 @9W6F6Y3from Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

If tuitions were free everyone will start going to college as they are getting a good education system just for cheaper.

 @9W58GPMfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Jobs would become more competitive and wages would be less because more people would be educated.

 @9W3MZPWfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

Especially for healthcare, where we are struggling to keep emergency rooms open province wide, it should be free. We need more doctors and nurses, so making this schooling free would open up more opportunities and hopefully fill those vacant spaces. However, I don’t see why all schooling should be free as it would enable “professional students”.

 @9W3C9LBfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

I think if tuition more people would study what they want to do in their life without the worry of student debt.

 @9W2M2H5New Democraticfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

This change would greatly affect the job shortage as more qualified indivisuals would become availiable. In my opinion, free college tution would be a good thing.

 @9W2D8XPConservativefrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

lot of people would have better educations and possibly raise the average IQ

 @9W2CN68from British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

it would make it easier for the lower class people to go to school that can afford it.

 @9W2CHZHfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

I think it would mean more people could be educated and have good careers, by keeping them off the streets and having a reliable source of income.

 @9VZZJDMfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

this would help society with paying taxes and bills since everything is already so expensive.

 @9VZVSDYfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

As College/University degrees have basically become a requirement for almost all meaningful employment, they should be included as a part of the basic education system.

Free Tuition could lead to a lack of care toward the university and lack toward what makes a university a university.

 @9VNPZW2 from Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

There would be a larger influx of people with college/university level educations, meaning more of said people flowing into the workforce.

I believe this would hopefully bring MORE of the more educated people to the places they need to be.

Such as jobs that require university or college education.

 @9VN695JConservative from Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

 @9VMX3HHfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

i think more people would go to college or uni if it was free, the main thing stopping people from going is how much it costs.

 @9VMM6BBfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

More skilled workers that are Canadian and a better connection to educating people for what the need is in the job market.

 @9VKPSDPfrom British Columbia  answered…3mos3MO

Unfair for the students who had to pay. Society would be more educated but less productive in the short term

 @9VJ2MV8from Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

I don't believe college tuition should be free. While I agree that tuition is far more expensive then it should be, I believe college isn't for everyone. To maintain balance across the workforce we need people who achieve higher levels of education. In contrast, those who may not want to or cannot pursue post-secondary education find alternatives.

 @9VHLKZC from British Columbia  answered…3mos3MO

If tuition were free a lot more people would be going to college because there are smart people but sometimes they don't have enough money to go to school because it cost so much.

 @9VH5D6WConservativefrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

Free tuition would definitely lead to an increase in the number of people attending secondary education.

 @9VGVXLNNew Democraticfrom Quebec  answered…3mos3MO

 @9VGN7WWfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

I wouldnt have to worry about money so i would be more inclined to go. This would be better for society because they could get schooling and still be financialy stable depending on how they stand

 @9VFV732from Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

I think that would be a bad idea as everyone would have a college degree, and you wouldn't really have anything to compete for when applying for a job because everyone would have a degree; therefore, it would ultimately become useless.

 @9VD25V6from Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

i think if tuition was free and living wasn't, I'd be happy. do too the price of living it makes it very hard to pay for tuition and living at the same time

 @9VCZ936from Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

More people would go to college and increase the number of working class while decreasing homelessness

 @9VCVSTMfrom Ontario  answered…3mos3MO

I think a lot more people would consider going to college and getting further education.

 @9VXFBPFfrom British Columbia  answered…2mos2MO

I think a lot more people will have the opportunity to further their education and pursue careers they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to but I think there’s greater discussion to be had in the topic.

 @9VT5TLZPeople’sfrom Alberta  answered…3mos3MO

That would basicly be so perfect for me then i would not have to worry about the college fee and i could try to save money for more important things such as food, a roof over me , and clothing, and my education would be stress free.

If tuition were free, my perspective on college would likely shift in several key ways:

Increased Access and Opportunity: Without the burden of tuition fees, college would become more accessible to a broader range of people, particularly those from low-income or marginalized communities. This would make higher education more inclusive, allowing more individuals to pursue their academic and career goals, and reduce the disparity in educational attainment among different socioeconomic groups.

Less Financial Stress and Greater Focus on Learning: Students would likely feel less pressure to…  Read more
