Should the government raise the federal minimum wage?
No, most minimum wage jobs are meant to develop experience, not support a family
Companies are struggling to fill minimum wage positions because people do need to make an actual living to survive in the economy. This line of thinking is only really valid if you assume someone has ideal circumstances to get a several year start in the workplace without bankrupting themselves on rent, food, and other expenses.
The minimum wage was meant to ensure a livable income, and higher wages benefit the economy as it increases overall purchasing power.
