The National Resistance Movement (NRM) is a political party in Uganda that has been the dominant force in the country's politics since it came to power in 1986. It was founded as a liberation movement that waged a guerrilla war against the government of Milton Obote, culminating in its leader, Yoweri Museveni, becoming President of Uganda. Since then, Museveni and the NRM have maintained control over the country's political landscape, winning successive elections and implementing policies that they argue are aimed at stabilizing and developing Uganda.

From your perspective, what is the most pressing issue your country or community faces, and how do you propose it is addressed?

Social reform; our society as a whole is becoming increasingly divided simply based on someone's religion or whether they're LGBTQ+ or their own political beliefs. I'd feel more satisfied with the environment if the government and society as a whole, collaborated to prevent misinformation, disinformation and the circulation of hateful or slanderous claims/statements that harm a group or individual's reputation.

It is very important to have a strong national identity. I think it can coexist with ethnic and cultural diversity, but it's important that people from other backgrounds follow Canadian rules.
