While I think that there is an important role of the private market and the competition and innovation it provides, there are also certain sectors of the market that are negatively impacted by the role of private corporations. Things such as the energy and healthcare sectors are services that should benefit everyone, not simply those who can pay more. Energy specifically has been stunted by the private system by refusing to innovate because they have determined it isn't as profitable, despite it being beneficial to society.
