people can speak any languages they want to speak in public

Everyone has different cultural elements and restricting one from expressing their cultural heritage is restricting them from their identity.

I am not bothered by people speaking languages that I do not know, if anything I am more intrigued by them and wouldn't mind learning more about the language & culture.

 @9J4RQXPConservativefrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I quite enjoy listening to other languages, they sound prettier then english, and flow better. I don't know why I feel this way.

I feel unbothered to hear other individuals in society communicate in a language I do not understand. Mainly because it is not my business, and I also have a minority language that I use to communicate with people from my culture.

 @9HZ5KV3from Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I feel that it is totally fine and they should be able to do everything that I am able to do whether they speak the same language as me or not.

 @9QSG5G6Liberalfrom Alberta  answered…9mos9MO

I feel happy because citizens get to communicate with others in their preferred language rather than just speaking in English with others.

I don't really care... canada is built on immigration so it is expected, though acents can be confusing

I honestly don't care too much about what people speak, if i can speak what language i want then they can too.

 @9JXPTTBLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I feel akward since I am in a English speaking country and they are not speaking the language they should be speaking here.

Linguistics is extremely important to everyone it doesn't matter where you're from or which language you speak; we're all just humans trying to communicate with one another and I think it's beautiful as well as important.

 @9JWKZHHfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Jealous I can only speak one language. I enjoy hearing and seeing other people express their culture, as long as it doesn't put others down

 @9JWKTBHfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I feel nice because it shows that we have freedom to speak in other languages.

I don't really think anything. If I went into another country where I was speaking a language most people didn't know it would be the same thing.

 @9JWL386Liberalfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I think it's really cool to think that Canada has so many cultures in it. And when people speak their own language, their expressing their selves.

I don’t mind it at all. I love to hear the differences of languages and hear the diversity of culture in Canada. Our multiculturalism makes us Canada. If it is not a conversation I am in what do I care what language they speak. If they wish to speak to me then they must use English but using another language in public is a separate issue from English competency.

 @9J4BYWSNew Democratic from Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I don’t really feel anything, it’s none of my business what other people are talking about. I wouldn’t care if I could understand them either.

 @9K4JGY3from Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I like diversity. It is good to have a country filled with culture and language.

 @9JW4XH9from Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I believe that people who cannot speak our language should not be allowed to take our jobs, why should someone who cannot understand our language or speak it work in a place of work where it is necessary to understand in order for customer service, when i am buying produce or parts for my car I should be able to understand the person who is selling to me.

 @9J2W6M6from Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I feel very curious and I want to listen more to these languages. I feel that way because as a human, we are responsible to understand and appreciate differences. It is inevitable.

 @9K2RCKYfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Happy to have diversity in the country, don’t mind hearing other languages.

It is none of my business when people are talking amongst each other in their own language. Although I do believe in the workplace English should be a requirement considering the first language is English.

 @9JVWBMFConservativefrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

i don't mind hearing languages i don't understand i like hearing new languages i haven't heard before.

 @9JVW65VLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I think it is important to learn official languages in Canada such as English and French to make communication easier but I have no bias towards someone who can't, but I would encourage learning

 @9JVLC3Ffrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

I don't feel left alone knowing there's another person who can speak another language

 @9J7RKCTfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

It doesn’t bother me that much but I do think that learning English is important so that minority groups don’t feel more isolated.
