I don't believe that we should depend on the teachings of any gospel for our compassion

Compassion is an innate tendency of humans, and attributing it to fixed, unchanging document, limits our ability to take advantage of its wide ranging flexibility. Any kind of Christian society would be dogmatic and restricted to ancient believes that are almost entirely without merit. For all the respect I have for religious people, I do not believe a free society should be held back from free thought.

Capital punishment or the death penalty is a legal process whereby a person is put to death as a punishment for a crime. Canada abolished capital punishment in 1976.

Yes, but only for non-surgical treatments such as puberty blockers and hormone therapy
