In the US just this year (2023 as of the time of writing), a very young girl was assaulted and impregnated by a rapist and was forced to carry that criminals child to term due to a strict policy against abortion and women’s bodily autonomy.
Her name wasn’t released to the public, her assaulter got barely any sentencing and might be walking free as of right now, and she’s now forced to take care of a child whilst entering the 5th or 6th grade.
That alone is enough proof I need as to why I’m pro choice.
A woman’s body shouldn’t be forced to give birth to a baby that A) The US childcare system can’t take care of, B) will harm the mother no matter the age, and C) might get lost In the horrible foster care system.
It is and always should be a woman’s choice.
If you’re not the one going to be giving birth, you shouldn’t have an opinion on what somebody else does with their body.
Fetus are also not children, they’re a clump of cells with no heartbeat or functioning organs that while yes has Human DNA does not and should not count as a baby.
Pregnancy can also extremely harm the mother, and cause irreparable and irreversible damage to the body’s nervous system, organs, and can physically change the mothers appearance, among a list of other concerns made by other women and through carefully examined research.
