No foreign buyers. if you don't live in Canada you can't own a home in Canada, but immigrants should be able to buy their primary residence like anyone else

 @9SNLZ3Sfrom British Columbia  answered…8mos8MO

If Foreigners have primary status and don’t own multiple homes for the rent economy but actually live in their communities then they should be allowed to buy a home as any Canadian citizen can.

 @9NT7YX2from Alberta  answered…10mos10MO

They must be living in the home and have it as their main residence and not be renting out to others and also must be a citizen

Foreigners who plan to move into the country should not be banned, rather, foreigners who are using the Real Estate market with the goal of making a profit should not be allowed to purchase homes. (Ideally we would stop land ownership as a whole)

If this is their primary residence no if it is a vacation home or a building for which they plan to rent then yes

Given the situation that the population of Canada and the land of Canada, I think it’s still good for people buy land. Unless it is crowded then it’s a different story.

 @93LRN3Mfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

No but they should be limited to 1 house for their family and 1 house for a rental property if they choose.

 @93BPT9YPeople’sfrom Manitoba  answered…3yrs3Y

I feel like it really depends. As you don't want rich foreigners buying all the houses as a way to preserve their money and sell it later. But you don't want foreigners who are trying to move here to be homeless for two years unless this doesn't apply to apartments and such.

They should be allowed to purchase homes if there are paying taxes to the federal government

 @8Z3RCJSNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Only if it is NOT their primary residence, because then they obviously see it as an investment.

Foriengers should never be permitted to purchase homes in Canada. Only Citizens and Residents who have lived in Canada 5+ years should be permitted to do so. Should Residents move out of Canada they should have to sell their homes in Canada.

 @8VLLX6Hfrom Quebec  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and foreigners living outside of Canada should never be allowed to buy houses in Canada.

only if they are buying them to rent and turn a profit, if it is just to live here then that is excellent.

 @8VL3N5Hfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

Foreigners purchasing homes in Canada is only a small portion of the issue. All houses that are being purchased for investment purposes rather than to live in should be limited not just foreign buyers.

No but the cost/tax for owning a home in Canada and not living in it and letting it sit empty should be raised for the wealthy
