Should the government enact a stricter immigration policy?

I find current policy sufficient, but in my opinion government should review recent immigrants to ensure they have become productive citizens. As an immigrant, I've seen a lot of unjustice when immigrants from "problem countries" were getting much more benefits than they actually needed.
