Should a politician, who has been formerly convicted of a crime, be allowed to run for office?

In my opinion, it depends on the crime and how bad it was

If it was a small crime that was clearly not committed by them, then they should be allowed to run for office. If it was a bigger crime that was clearly committed by the politician, then they should not be able to run for office.
