Less money should be given to the local police and more to social and communities, but the police should continue existing to persist against law breakers

 @8YLRG4Sfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but with the hope that the police departments train in a social work course.

Instead of defunding the Police, we should redirect the funding towards more training such as: Mental health, cultural training, having something in place to discuss emotions as oppose to restricting Officers from talking about there emotions

Some. The funding used for mental health and drug calls, etc., should be redirected to the appropriate services

 @8VPLJMWGreenfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, funding should be redirected to training police officers in defusing situations and not profiling by colour, gender, or age.

No, but instead some of the funding be redirected to a force that is specifically equipped for calls to scenes involving mental health episodes.

Some of the funding should be redirected, but the police departments should remain

It should be split. Half for funding and training and half for social and community based programs including mental health.

I want a replacement of the police force consisting of social workers, nurses and psychologists dealing with violent and non-violent crimes firsthand, and for the current criminal field to be changed towards the health field, with prisoner rights being the only legal issues for which judges have a say.

 @997L4R9from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, while allowing police forces to operate and be trained in relations and conflict-resolution

 @997HC5Qfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, though fundamental training and a better relation between police and community.

Yes, but make it so that all police officers are educated and change the way they are trained so that they can be more fair, equal, and reasonable

 @8VM3YCNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Education, mental health training, crisis avertion training and general training to become a police officer should have greater funding, maybe currently misplaced funding could be a problem. However social, awareness, acceptance, community programs are paramount to preventing higher crime. Stigmas drive a high amount of distrust and hate which in general just makes crime more rampant. All of this being my opinion.

Increase the amount of screening for entry into the police foundations programs and also again when being hired.
