No- just increase the funding to social and community based programs without affecting the police funding

 @B2ZZ8YSfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

Some funding should be redirected so that nonviolent calls can be safely handled without a militarized police presence

 @B2VWCWJfrom Ontario  answered…2mos2MO

No, but increase funding for social workers, and mental health professionals that work alongside police.

Redirect excess money to nurse officer pairs to be sent to nonviolent/mental health calls or for welfare checks

Part of it could be for funding local police departments, but some of it could also be used for community based programs.

No, increase spending for training on de-escalation and conflict resolution and hire social workers to aid in police responses.

Police officers literally risk their lives every single day. Their salary should be much higher and they should also provide more mental health care

No, but increase funding for social services, youth services, and other community resources

Some but not all funding should be redirected to mental health professionals or community responders for non-violent calls.

 @8VGLNYXfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, increase funding and training for police departments and community-based responders for non-violent calls in higher crime rate communities

 @8V5CFHLfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Funding should be split between police and unarmed community based responders for non-violent calls. Funding that is allocated towards police should be put towards education and training.

 @9CM3GCSfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

No, police funding should stay the same but increased funding should be given to social programs from public spending.

 @9B495WXfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Depends on how much is being funded to the police. If funding is over a certain number, then it definitely should be redirected to social and community-based programs.

Yes, having police is important but I believe funding in that department can be allocated in social and community-based programs.
