Funding should be used to train police on non violent harm reduction methods to help people with addiction and mental health
@936JSNX3yrs3Y
some of it, how much on a case by case basis
@8YCYGK93yrs3Y
No, just cut the police and save the money.
@8VX7HSS4yrs4Y
some of the funding should go to social and community based programs
@8VMYDHC4yrs4Y
i think that they need to increase funding for training towards different things like how to respond to mental health related issues and how to respond to other issues which involve different reactions towards the matter .
@8VJBCNN4yrs4Y
No but move funding for training programs for them
@8VGVTB94yrs4Y
Increase funding and training for police departments around the country and also redirect some funding towards social and crisis based forces trained to deal with certain situations
@8VB6DSM4yrs4Y
Funding to maintain (and use existing funding to support police training) and any new increases be redirected to social and community based programs and services (including social workers)
@8V97FCK4yrs4Y
Some funds redirected to social programsZ Also better police training on issues of mental health, racism, sexism.
@8V8PKZ64yrs4Y
complicated issue you need both police and you need Social and community-based programs both. The police need to be better trained as well in sensitivity training. The way our police deal with mental health issues is really an embarrassment. Better educate the police on these and racial issues and any other they are lagging on.They need to be held accountable.
@8SLS73S4yrs4Y
should be both the police are too aggressive when it just a little problem with no arms involve and we need more support in all communities whatever the skin colors and background !
@8SL99XN4yrs4Y
No, but reform of police and increased accountability and funding + training to train officers to not use excessive, unneeded force.
@8R3SFYZLibertarian4yrs4Y
Funding for the police should be spent on better training for officers instead of more equipment
@8Q7DYSG4yrs4Y
Just have police patrols again like the 70's-80's.
@9C8VPWF2yrs2Y
In crease training for the police. More mental health evaluation before someone can become a police officer.
@9BFR5WS2yrs2Y
Neither should happen, it is overfunded but the extra money should be put back in the taxpayers pocket
@98PQTLX2yrs2Y
No, because it would be a waste of government money just by being paid by taxes citizens paid for
