the answers are flawed their should be an in-between my answer would be " they should take away a percentage lets say between 15% to 25% of the funding for police and redirect that to social programs but that is not saying that police work isn't important but it is in need of regulation

 @9TJ6VW7Liberalfrom Alberta  answered…7mos7MO

Yes, community programs should be funded more but it shouldn't take away from our first responder's who also need more funding

 @9T29GLMfrom Alberta  answered…8mos8MO

i believe they should be trained to respond to certain situations differently. and i also believe they should be monitored more

Both are important ways to enforce the law. Social and community based programs are simply better long term solutions. However, the police should not be underfunded for this purpose.

Change training or more strick psychological evaluations. The lack of help for the native population, specifically native woman that go missing and not enough is done.

no, current funding should be used for teaching about mental health issues in the people as well as de-escalating situations and non-violent tactics

 @9F5KMPVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Increase funding to police so they can receive conflict resolution and mental health training. Police should be able to handle every situation. Increase funding so they can become counselors too. Abolishing the police would be stupid more work has to be done to make police better. Police training should involve critical race theory.

Some funding should be shifted to social and community based programs (not all).

 @8VZCTFDfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

The police system is a joke, every time I had to deal with them it has been a negative experience, should be concentrating on solving crimes instead they harass the general public with fines.

 @8VS786Qfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Redirect current funding from tactical and armed options to community based response training.

 @8VJRRKCfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Increase funding for retraining and new processes for the "new" year. Policing is old school. Its a new world!

 @9C7PH47from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

Funding for the police should stay the same but social and community programs should have increased funding

 @B4Q664Vfrom Alberta  answered…2 days2D

Increase unarmed community based responders. Most calls could end differently with proper de-escalation skills. Police should not be trained to take everything as a threat
