Yes, but only slightly and money should be directed to social programs to help with mental health, drug use and outreach.

Police enforcement is definitely necessary. But de-escalation training and training on non violent interventions are necessary
We need a combination of a rebuilt police system (there’s too much violence and gender inequality) and community-based responders for non-violent calls. I don’t think the police should be armed with deadly force. I think there needs to be more consideration for mental health in non-violent crimes.

No. Local police should be funded by municipalities or the province, same goes for any social or community based programs. I support both

Redirect funds used to purchase military grade gear, and put that back into the community and into training.
Yes and disarm the police, they should know what innocent civilians feel like when they have guns pointed at them

I think funding for local police departments can funnel some of it into properly educating and training their officers on things such as crisis intervention, or dealing with a high stress situation involving an individual with mental health issues.
@95ZGSVQ3yrs3Y
Keep funding for police, but redirect a portion of the money to other services
Yes, but only if some duties of police are changed as well.
@8XB7MDG3yrs3Y
I think they should find a way to divide it equally
No, and fund a bit more body cams on our officers and better training
@8VY8NG94yrs4Y
Keep police but add more programs for mental health support to help people before they resort to crime
@8VTVNTXNew Democratic4yrs4Y
More education and more screening
@8TWXBFC4yrs4Y
Increase funding so we can, Replace some police with unarmed responders, Training for higher risk situations and deploy accordingly. Have more training with mental health, and give time for officers to care for their own mental health.
More training needs to go into how to deal with non violent calls, maybe they need to have a social worker attend the call and the officer is there as backup.
@8Q85WSS4yrs4Y
No the police should not have reduced funding, but rather the funds given to them should be given for specific reason as to not allow law enforcement to spent money on things that they don't actually need.
@8PJMGYM4yrs4Y
No, only some funding should be reallocated, but allow the local police gain body-cams from funding to be held accountable more. REFORM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM
@995KQ6T2yrs2Y
Have strong funding for both police and social programs
@95RKVD43yrs3Y
No, tax the rich and use that money
