Some funding should be redirected to mental health agencies, to deal with offenders that are mentally ill.

Shift non-criminal crisis response (e.g., mental health calls) to specialized teams while keeping police focused on serious crime.

Increase funding for both policing and community programs instead of taking from one to fund the other.

Invest in de-escalation and mental health training for officers to improve public interactions.

Audit police budgets to cut inefficiencies without reducing necessary law enforcement services.

Yes redirect some of the police department spending to mental health teams that work directing with the police.

No to decreasing funding but channeling some of that funding for sensitivity training and increase community based funding for partnership with police

 @8VRNRVYfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, a percentage of the funds should be redirected to social and community-based programs.

 @8VPVSGXfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

New funding should go into social programs such as mental health issues but not taken away from police

 @8VPVM8JNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Police funding should be slightly reduced to provide funding for other programs.

 @8VMP336Conservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Support both and encouraging the cooperation between both to provide a better service overall

Stop putting caps on police and let them do their job to ACTUALLY serve and protect.

 @8TYWNDPNew Democraticfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

No but they should work closely with these programs and have increased sensitivity training as well as psychological testing for recruits and current officers. And in higher crime communities increase funding & training for police departments

No, but there needs to be increased social workers available, alongside trained police officers.

No, but social programs should be pursued and separately funded while working with law enforcement on non violent calls
