more funding towards realistic laws

No, from a strictly law and order perspective, but their need to be a balance between funding for social issues and policing. Actually, an integrative approach. Psychology. Education.

I believe there should be increased finding for vetting police officers. Increased duration of school requirements. Stricter laws and punishments on not reporting other officers on duty.

We need people in our society that are willing to deal with violent people. More training for police on how to deal with mental health would help in my eye.
@8VBB3K64yrs4Y
Police should not be defunded but spending on social programs should be increased
@8TZRWBG4yrs4Y
No, there should be more funding for police departments in mental health education to best support the community.
@8TQTW27New Democratic4yrs4Y
No, but retrain all police officers, mandate the use of body cameras and dash cameras, and set up community-based crisis response teams for situations where police presence isn't necessary

Transfer some funding from police to social services.
The police system should be reformed and have less funding. The funding that was taken away from the police force should be directed at homeless shelters, foster homes and more.
@8QWCKK74yrs4Y
I believe half of the funding should go to police while the other to social and community based programs
@8QTCPSX4yrs4Y
I think a portion of the money going to the police should go toward social and community programs but still keep police for violent crimes only.
@8J93SXL5yrs5Y
Expansion of the car-40 program (police and psychiatric nurse)
@98WWYXH2yrs2Y
No, social and community based programs should receive more funding without having to divert from law enforcement
@933KWP33yrs3Y
I think that it should be split between both
@8S5WC534yrs4Y
Yes only if there was something in place that would release the police from being called in on social and none violent disputes
