While social based programs should be prioritized, local police departments funding shouldn't be completely redirected.

 @9QQXRDVfrom Ontario  answered…10mos10MO

Only redirect some funding for local police departments to social and community based programs. Provide more funding in areas currently dealing with severely high crime rates.

 @9QQVM6Kfrom Ontario  answered…10mos10MO

I think both the police and social/community based programs are important, so funding should be increased for both fairly and evenly to support our communities.

 @9QQT338from Ontario  answered…10mos10MO

I don't think it should be redirected, just more evenly distributed to what each party actually needs.

 @8R58JVKfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No. There is no other institution within our Country that has some visible flaws that we would say should have funding stripped. Stripping funding will no eliminate the flaws, it will enhance them.

 @8QZS5YZfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Remove some funding from police, put it back into communities. I wouldn’t say replace all police but definitely agree w having an unarmed person responding to non violent calls

Yes, while in the meantime working to fix the corrupt system that is the police.

Social and community based programs definitely need an overhaul and upgrade. If officers who have committed crimes were no longer suspended 'with pay', the funding could go towards our communities.

We still need police officers in the world no matter how hard we try and push them away. We just need a stronger approach on who to hire and training specific to understand their job and what they can and can’t do. Just because you have a badge doesn’t mean you win.

 @8VH8FBHConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, not redirected. Funding should be provisioned and allocated to both police and social/community based programs to better prepare each party for issues that arise.

 @8VC7N6SConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Deparmentalize the roles of "police" and improve the reporting infrastructure to properly respond to issue at hand

 @8TS4WKVfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Continue to fund the police and add community support funding for youth and dealing with specialized services.

 @8TJCPQLfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I do not think that the funding should be completely redirected but I do feel there should be more funding for social and community based programs.

 @8TJ44TPfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Some funding should be directed to social and community based programs.

 @8RJG4WMfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and No add more support for people abused but do not defund the police.

 @8PK8M6Cfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Have a special role in policing for officers with a health care background.

 @9CRJ8P8Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

I think it should be cut but not drastically, the amount of funding for police departments and social programs should be similar

 @9CN6GGVfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Increased, but money should also be used to redirected to social and community based programs

 @9CMP4L2from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9CML6JNfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Don't remove police but move some funding to Social and community based programs, while also putting police in more crime heavy areas

 @9CMJMMBLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes partially and collaborate with local programs and police departments

 @98RBBP5from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

In addition to the police force, we need reallocation of funds to ensure the police have only required resources, and other funds are provided to unarmed community based responders for non-violent calls.

 @98Q2HH4from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @98PYZHLLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

do not replace police but have the option to call unarmed respinders for non- violent calls

 @98PL3W4from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

We need to have both, safe unarmed police in the community and police for bigger, dangerous issues.

 @8SLWDF9from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, but still continue funding the police but with reduced amount of money
