Immigrants should have some knowledge in at least one of the two national languages, and the government should provide free or subsidized language learning courses

Yes, but they should not be pressured to and should still be able to speak their original and native languages in many situations professional, public and / or private

No.
1 - Canada has 2 official languages.
2 - embrace the diversity of newcomers to Canada
3 - the government should ALSO provide free language learning courses
4 - the government should provide more translations available for official documents/services (thinking about Covid Vaccine information - had to source in multiple languages for fellow coworkers)

They should be required to learn English or French at their own expense, or pay a special tax/face exclusion from landed immigrant status should they fail/choose not to do so.

Immigrants should already be able to speak English to be eligible to immigrate here.
