Abolish gender specific events

 @8V4DHL2from British Columbia  disagreed…4yrs4Y

Why would we do that? Gender exists .

 @9ZHBQHXfrom Manitoba  disagreed…5mos5MO

Yes, but only if their hormone levels are equivalent to those in the gender category in which they compete

We should base it off of the testosterone-estrogen hormonal difference. This would also mean wed have more than one category.

As long as the regulations and issues such as change rooms and such as connected to, be regulated properly and that common sense is still followed I believe it should be allowed however, I do feel that there will be a disadvantage in some sectors.

Yes, but they should be encouraged to take medication and drugs that help their hormone levels match those in the gender category they compete in.

 @9F9BH4RLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

If women who are transitioning into man want to compete that is fine but man transitioning into a women should not be allowed to as they have a physiological advantage

 @9F5BCCMLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and science should be reconstructed based around men and women's biological capabilities in order to more accurately inform sports on how to separate athletes based on ability capacity. As we continue research on gender and sexuality, it is becoming more apparent that historical research that created our "facts" around these subjects has been significantly biased in order to serve those in positions of power, further segregating and categorizing individuals to a false dichotomy.

Trans men should be able to compete in men's categories, but trans women should not be able compete in women's categories unless they began transition before puberty . Even if current hormone levels are the same skeletal and muscular development in individuals that transitioned after puberty is going to give them an advantage over women biologically sexed at birth.

 @9N43JQQLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…11mos11MO

Athletes should compete against athletes who have the same sex biologically because of hormone levels, etc. Instead, looking into making sports team designed for those who are transgenderd would be a good idea.

 @9L6ZM2CLiberalfrom Saskatchewan  answered…1yr1Y

They should be treated just like everyone else, because the only thing that's different is there love life.

 @9JTWXQGLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Yes in amateur and in school events. Prrofessional sports should be able to create their own regulations.

Trans-man (woman to man) should be allowed to compete, but trans-women should depend based on hormone levels because men have higher levels of hormones and different chemicals that make them stronger.

Yes, but only in events that match the sex they were assigned at birth.

 @8LRW74FLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No because even if their hormone levels are equivalent they still have the skeletal structure advantage or disadvantage

 @9B5PZCBfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

This should be determined on a sport-by-sport basis to ensure no one has an unfair advantage. Their hormones should be equivalent to those of their gender category. For example, someone who identifies as female but is biologically male with the height and musculature to match might have an unfair advantage in a track event. if there is a disadvantage rather than advantage, however, there is no reason why they should not compete in their preferred gender category.

 @99CSVDDLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. As long as the athlete has taken hormone supplements (albeit testosterone or estrogen) for more than +1 year.

 @97Z6ZZ9Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, if they started hormone replacement earlier in life during puberty

 @97TX4J6Communistfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

if they do as many tests as needed in order to prove they are of equal strength only to the opponents, a trans man would have to be as weak as the girls to compete but on the other hand transwomen can give give it their "best" shot with the dudes if they want.

 @97Q8YRTLiberalfrom Nova Scotia  answered…2yrs2Y

Leave it to the experts to determine if such a decision could constitute an unfair advantage or disadvantage for the athlete and debate whether restraining an athlete from competing with their chosen gender could be unconstitutional - if so either banning domestic sports teams that divide us based on gender or preventing transgender athletes from competing where the outcome would be unfair and not unconstitutional.

I do agree that they should be allowed to participate, but there should be some forms of agreement to the said person about do's and dont's. Because for instance a Trans man could identify as a woman but then potentially abuse that to make unwanted sexual advances, hence forms would be needed to be signed for both trans men and women.

 @8VQ45ZDfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes 100% Being transgender is not affecting anyone else, and if you choose to be a gender you are that gender.

 @8VKBPPBfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if they have been that gender for a certain number of years, and pass all hormone requirements set out by the board
