A manditory sentance should be decided based on the drug and the amount. A person convicted of 5 grams of meth should have a lesser sentence that a person convicted of 10 grams of cocaine.

No, and I do not support prison sentences for people charged with drug possession at all

Yes, for dealers. Those who have been caught using should be required by state to get clean and stay clean for 5 years. Other laws should be put in place for not following the protocol and/or relapsing after the 5 years

I support it to an extent, but I also think that the law is sometimes too hard on them.

either way this will not stop the dealers from dealing and the users from using.

No, but enforce addiction intervention and increase funding for addiction recovery programs.

I think that people that have the possession of drugs and are in jail should go through classes to help them while they are in jail.

I believe instead of putting people charged with drug posession in jail and then letting them out, programs should be in place in jail so that they can become clean and never have to go back, reducing overcrowding over time.
