I think that while it is a good idea, people who don't often go to the hospital aren't paying for their own hospital stays but for others and while that is ok, I think that people should be able to opt out and if they do then they pay for their own hospital fees.

Yes, but allow people to use private insurance; use a system similar to Social Security, where everyone pays into it and can use it

No, but the system should be mostly single payer but states should be able to allow private clinics to do elective surgeries and procedures to elevate wait times.
