Single-payer healthcare is a system where every citizen pays the government to provide core healthcare services for all residents. Under this system the government may provide the care themselves or pay a private healthcare provider to do so. In a single-payer system all residents receive healthcare regardless of age, income or health status. Countries with single-payer healthcare systems include the U.K., Canada, Taiwan, Israel, France, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine.

Yes, but bring up the standards of care offered to those of lower incomes. Include more availability of essential services like dental, vision, and mental health under protected healthcare. Reduce financial barriers to healthcare!
@B4SKP642 days2D
Yes, for Canadian citizens but allow the use of pro ate insurance and health care options for those who can afford it.
@B4RBL8J4 days4D
The problem is that the government is misattributing funds and bloating bureaucracy. I support it in-so-far as misspending is curbed, and bloating is prevented
@8XZC2RV3yrs3Y
no, the Canadian government is too ineffective to maintain such a system.
@B3G3R7S2mos2MO
Yes, allow for the use of private insurance and private clinics to be utilized, as well as providing a "co-fee" service of for medical offices and emergency to deter drug seeking behaviour and abuse of the healthcare system.
@9JC6BKV1yr1Y
The system isn't broken at the customer endpoint, it's further up the chain. This is an issue with first order thinking which will not fix the system.
@8RWBHS34yrs4Y
Yes, this system guarantees healthcare for everyone and ban all private insurance companies from practicing healthcare and close all private clinics
@8D4X4PW5yrs5Y
Yes, and ban use of private clinics and dissolve private healthcare companies in Canada
@B2GJ4RP3mos3MO
Yes, but the amount citizen pay should be relative to their income. The more you earn, the more should be taken from your income taxes to contribute towards the healthcare system.
@B27DDLHConservative4mos4MO
Yes, but surgeries should have a private option to prevent backlogs and private insurance should be permitted
@9L2P5YG1yr1Y
Yes but up to a point. It should not extract too much money. Higher costs such as for ore severe injuries(MRI, Major X-Rays) should not be covered since they happen rarely. There should be a program for people who have these but are unable to pay. A loan with no insurance and only a +10% cost when returning the loan. Also government should make price for drugs the same for everyone and everywhere. I don't support high priced private institutions. Government should provide the drugs at the same cost for everyone.
@9KFBDW3Conservative1yr1Y
Yes, but allow people to opt in or opt out and choose a different plan, and or pay for service elsewhere if desired.
@8SHNHYV4yrs4Y
Yes, and no companies should be allowed to profit off of healthcare and this guarantees healthcare for everyone
@8VTQ7Q24yrs4Y
pending how costly it would be to the citizen, some may not be able to afford it if it's not a reduced price
@8VH4ZRZ4yrs4Y
Don't really know what this is
@8VBJBQ74yrs4Y
No, we should have a two-tier system
@8V95QN24yrs4Y
Yes, this guarantees healthcare for everyone and no one should be allowed to profit off of healthcare.
@8Q5CJW34yrs4Y
Yes, this will guarantee healthcare for everyone and companies should not profit off of healthcare
@8Q28BQH4yrs4Y
I dont understand the question
@8PYXCGL4yrs4Y
Yes, this will guarantee healthcare for everyone and no company should profit off of people's health. Ban private healthcare.
@8PXK8WV4yrs4Y
Yes this system guarantees healthcare for everyone and no company should profit off of healthcare
@8P9CY8Q4yrs4Y
I support universal healthcare, which guarantees healthcare for all, but not single-payer, which forces everybody into a state-run government healthcare system.
@8P4P98S4yrs4Y
Yes, this guarantees healthcare access to everyone and private companies should be dissolved as they profit off of people's lives.
@8P3F3JT4yrs4Y
I support a more robust system where you dont fall through the cracks because of income or coverages lacking.
@8CK9QFH5yrs5Y
It sounds similar to the universal healthcare Canada already has, so yes. I think that the system we have now is fine but I do support this other one.
@8VKY56V4yrs4Y
I think people should be able to opt in to whatever system they prefer and let the market decide.
@8Z9SMSS3yrs3Y
No, but more government oversight needs to be made for private insurance companies as they are some of the biggest scum bags on the planet
Both public and private! Mixed option is the best option. Give Canadians more choice!
@8TRPMHX4yrs4Y
I am unsure at this moment/ don’t have enough information to formulate an opinion
@8TNDXCT4yrs4Y
Yes, make profiting off of healthcare illegal and this will guarantee healthcare for everyone.
@9CLJFYR2yrs2Y
I am currently unsure of exactly how this system works, so I cannot say what my stance is.
@97YCH8R2yrs2Y
@97WSTML2yrs2Y
Don't really care on the matter
@8VKNGNW4yrs4Y
Yes, but make it a two tier public/private system.
@8VHY7NC4yrs4Y
This question is convoluted and encompasses too many questions to be answered with ONE answer.
@8TWZ76T4yrs4Y
Yes for treatment, no for diagnostics and prevention.
@8T25G6C4yrs4Y
Healthcare should be payed for by the federal government through taxes that are payed by the people within the country.
@8RJ5L744yrs4Y
Yes, this system guarantees healthcare for everyone and private companies should be banned from healhcare
@8R26JKW4yrs4Y
Yes, this guarantees healthcare-for-everyone and we need to ban private companies from providing healthcare. Do Not allow people to use private insurance or private anything.
@8TWZL2K4yrs4Y
Isn't this what we have already?
@8GPGQX85yrs5Y
Yes, but allow private systems if people are willing to pay for it to maintain competition and innovation. The current healthcare system is full of entitlement and poor treatment of patients.
