Depends on the individual and their case. We should invest more in rehabilitation but there should be harsher punishment in Canada too for more severe cases. We play in the middle too much. Harsh punishments for lenient crimes and lenient punishment for harsh crimes. It's a backwards system that needs to be abolished.

Yes, after a serious and in depth psychological evaluation to confirm that they are no longer a threat.

Yes, But should perform community service, and reintroduction into work force and be provided with services so they do not re-offend.

No, unless they have served their sentence and are commited to a crime-free remainder to their lives.

i think the prison justice system should be reformed and changed, life outside of prison after spending so much time in it i feel like your life is just over. so hard to come back from being there for so long, yes obviously people screwed up big time and deserve to be in there, but prison teaches nothing and the same things end up happening IN the prisons and dont solve anything outside/inside.

yes and maybe make sure how they are and possibly put an ankle bracelet on them and put them on house arrest or a bit to see how it goes and do community service.

Yes, it is called parole. Perhaps one should have a chance at parole more often or earlier into their sentence if they are non-violent offenders but I assume the rules are the way they are to help the members of parole boards across Canada not to become overwhelmed.

Yes, but we should provide rehab centres when needed and they need to do a psychological evaluation

No, we should invest in Maze like prisons to reduce costs and encourage criminals to work together in a community for their survival & production.
