Electoral District (2011):
I think phasing in the right to vote (municipal, provincial and then later on federal) is a more reasonable path to ensuring lifelong participants in our democracy
@9W7HR936mos6MO
Yes but with strict regulations on political marketing to teens and requirements for education that is as unbiased as possible
@9D8TS7BNew Democratic2yrs2Y
Yes, anyone who pays taxes and passes a basic test demonstrating understanding of politics should be allowed to vote
@8X5P58R3yrs3Y
The voting aged should be lowered but not at the young end, older people (80+) should no longer be able to vote
yes, so long as the school system adjusts their learning criteria so that young people can fully understand what their vote is working towards
@8V8Z68P4yrs4Y
I believe Canadian citizens aged 16 and over should be allowed to vote.
@8TZSPC94yrs4Y
Yes, it should be lowered to 16 in order to encourage youth participation in politics.
@8TV8FYTLibertarian4yrs4Y
Yes if they pass a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics in order to vote
@8TV69874yrs4Y
Yes to 16 but they have to apply for the right at that age and prove basic general knowledge
As long as they pass a basic test that shows their understanding of politics.
@8TJ4NQW4yrs4Y
Yes, as long as the person is responsible and educated
if you are able drive I feel as if you should be able to vote
Yes, voters age 16 and up should have the right to vote
@8RZYF3M4yrs4Y
yes, but have more intense education course in schools before hand
@8QVLLGTNew Democratic4yrs4Y
Yes, lowered to 16 provided that they have extensive knowledge of politics.
@8QR7G7V4yrs4Y
No because before voting you must become more mature and more independent in order to not treat an election like a joke, a good example of what happens when you treat and election like a joke is Donald trump who is not only a tax evader and racist but also a rapist and that absolutely makes me sick to my stomach
@8QBPS524yrs4Y
depending on the circumstances. in america, the reelection of trump would’ve hurt/affected LGBT/POC and their communities. minors were watching their rights be debated. in an instance like that, i think the vote should be lowered to 16. plus my generation seems to understand politics and the importance of having good representatives
@8QB4ZLN4yrs4Y
No but elderly should not be allowed to vote because their opinions are outdated
@8PN3MPXNew Democratic4yrs4Y
If a person really wants to vote and he is not old enough. He could take a quiz that tests his intelligence on politics and if he failed then no, if he passed then yes
@8PM82LC4yrs4Y
The minimum voting age should be lowered on a provincial and municipal level.
@8PK9B8F4yrs4Y
No, but only because we aren’t properly educated on democracy and all matters that surround it.
@8PK87HQ4yrs4Y
Yes. Age is not a sign of maturity. We should give opportunities to younger and involved citizens.
@8KJM4TX4yrs4Y
Yes, this should be put into highschool curriculum and students should be able to vote after graduation
@8HMYMSP5yrs5Y
As long as schools incorporate more political teachings in school.
Not really unless they have a understanding
@8DTHR6BNew Democratic5yrs5Y
Yes but voters should be required to pass a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics and basic economic, and socioeconomic principles in order to vote.
@9CRDQ9K2yrs2Y
Don't really care about voting to be honest
@8VVWSSS4yrs4Y
Yes, it should be lowered to 16. Youth voices deserve to be heard.
@8DYL8MN5yrs5Y
The voting age should stay the same, however there should be mandated courses or education that ensures voters have the necessary and correct information to know who and what they are really voting for.
@8QDSNZY4yrs4Y
Personally I'm satisfied with the current voting age but if the majority of the people support a lower voting age I will support the popular will of the people.
@85QL69F5yrs5Y
Yes, if they pay taxes and have a basic understanding of politics and what they are voting for
@7KCBJ6J4yrs4Y
Minimum wage should be kept where it is at $7.50/$8.00 per hour.
@spaceUnicorn0183yrs3Y
Yes, any citizen that is able to pass a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics should be allowed to vote
