They don't have a stake in Canada. Only people who pledge their full allegiance to this country should be able to vote.

No. Elections are determining the future of a sovereign nation. No foreign nationals should be allowed to vote or interfere in such a process.

Canadians know what’s best for Canada. It isn’t fair that someone who has been here their whole life, sometimes has less of a voice than someone here a year.

Regardless of where they are from if they’re not a Canadian citizen they should have no bearing on Canadian politics

The origin of the foreign voters should not matter. Unless you are a citizen of Canada you should have no right to vote on or have representation in the Canadian government

The EU has no bearing om Canadian Politics. The UK does, but it isn't part of the EU, and they don't get to vote in Canada either.

I believe that those who are either a permanent resident, or a citizen should have the right to choose what happens in their country not those who don't live in it.

 @B2JGYPGfrom Alberta  disagreed…2mos2MO

no, they are still not from our country as thus do not have Canadian Citizenship so if they voted they would be arrested.

The US has no ability to control who is given European Union citizenship, and therefore it may have lower criteria for citizenship than would normally be allowed in voting. In addition, voting rights are earned by commitment to the country which can be gained through engaging in the process of becoming a citizen. An EU citizen can be in the country with no commitment or ties and should not be allowed, purely on the basis that they have ties to another country, to vote in the US.

That would be opening up a lot of issues. Shouldn't favour only one. Specially since their immigration policies are also terrible. You could get anyone from anywhere. Better to screen everyone.

I don't care where they are from. They aren't Canadian and should not have a say in our politics. The argument "if they are from the EU" implies that they are white which is racist.

Only canadien citizens who are born in Canada should be allowed to vote as we are the ones who have had the struggles of Canada and should be allowed to chose who we think is right to run for our country instead of people from different countries choosing the politicians who gives them more

 @B2WMSBNConservativefrom Alberta  disagreed…2mos2MO

Limiting voting rights to only European Union citizens is unfair to long-term non-EU residents who contribute to the country through work and taxes. Democracy should represent all who are affected by its policies, not just those with EU passports.

Only citizens should be able to vote. If I moved to Germany or Switzerland I would not expect to be able to vote without becoming a citizen.
