Why would we let someone who has broken the law, now be in power of the law? Laughable.

The people who have selected "No" agree with the overall idea that criminial politicans soil the image of the nation and don't have the best interest in mind for civilians. It is better to have a politician who's record is clean as can be for they will have the interests of the public in mind and will maintain a positive image of the nation.
The "No" position on criminal politicians emphasizes the importance of upholding the presumption of innocence, avoiding politically motivated accusations, safeguarding democratic processes, and focusing on systemic reforms rather than punitive measures targeting individual politicians.
Criminal politicians may make decisions that serve their interests rather than the public's. According to a working paper by the National Bureau of Economic Research, politicians with criminal records are more likely to engage in corrupt activities and less likely to provide public goods.

Politicians with a criminal background would not consider the best options for majority of people and care more about their own self interest.

Obviously it depends on the severity of the crime in question, but I believe that the people who run our country should be of good morals and have clean criminal records. It is a matter of trust and accountability, our leaders should be the best of us and not people who are subject to impulsive decisions, which most crimes stem from, or crooked enough to thoroughly plan a crime for any reason.

It gonna be dangerous because they can attack the different political parties and also try threating to prime minster of Canada.

How would we let a person that has criminal record be in office without knowing if they are still doing what they did before.

Donald Trump, with 75 federal enditements, is allowed to run for the Federal election of the most powerful country in the world. He faces almost 700 years in prison, and yet he is allowed to run.

we should give everyone a chance, if they committed a serious crime that would give them a life sentence then no but if it was something stupid and not serious they did as a kid then they deserve a chance.

We need people who are honest and good to run our country. How can we trust people who have a criminal history to have the best interests of everyone in mind.
