No, but he have to go to the jail like if he killed someone, he have to go life in jail or something like that.

 @9JVR75Xfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

I think it fully depends on the crime. If it was a act of terrorism against that country then yes, but a serial killer shouldn't be deported only put into jail.

 @9HXV9RFLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

No if they are full citizens or permanent residents. Yes if they are not full citizens and their country is safe to return to

 @9HQHPGNLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

The government system should be able to make sure the immigrant's homeland is safe and alright to live in. They should also check if the immigrants is changed person or undergo therapy and help.

 @9FVYQK3from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but after they have finished serving their sentence or make a process to continue stay in Canada.

 @9Y9VJFWLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…5mos5MO

Yes and No. Yes if they have been charged multiple times No because if theyre a legal citizen, they should only finish their senetence.

 @9WH36NFLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…6mos6MO

yes, if they do not have a permanent citizenship have served their sentance and its safe for them to return to their country

 @9QVJ92XLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…9mos9MO

If they have become a citizen they should serving the sentence but non citizen should srrve and in the end if they plead innocnet or are clear now should stay however if they continue, they should get deported whereas I think a refugee should serve but also be given another chance seince they come as a refugee and getting deported would be serious and harmful to them

 @9NJKMS3Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…11mos11MO

it depends on how big the crime is if it is a act of terroirsm than yes if not than just do your time in jail

 @9LWJY9PLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…12mos12MO

Yes but if it is so serious then there should be a death penalty reenacted just for non-residents of Canada

 @9KM36XPfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Yes as long as its safe, and will be legally punished in their country as well ( as long as they pay for their crimes basically)

 @9KB9XSZLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

Only if the serious crime is terrorism, first degree murder or any sexually violent crime/human trafficking

 @9G2DBWWLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

no they should be put into a prison in canada just like anyone else who is a canadien citizen because most of them have families kids

 @9FMP7H2from Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

 @9BN6JRTfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

No, if they have attained Canadian Citizenship. They are then Canadians and treated as such. Yes, deport if they have yet to attain citizenship.

 @9CLG96WLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

If we accept them as our own citizens, we should treat them as our own citizens. Justice should be blind and fair.

 @95Q23W7Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Depends on the severity of the crime. If not too serious then no, if so then we should consider it rather than doing it immediately, only then we can arrive at a decision.

 @8WYLC47Liberalfrom Nova Scotia  answered…3yrs3Y

It dependes about the cirscunstances, in that way its complicated have a side.

 @8WQS4YGLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

immigrants shouldn't be deported but just sentenced. They should be treated like everyone. My answer is, 'No'.

 @8V68CBPLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

It depends on the situation, if it is a crime that is committed through pure accident, no they should not. I.e Humboldt's crash.

 @8TVCXSMLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TK67HKLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TJL9RHfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TH4QX4from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TD635GLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

They shouldn't be deported, they should be treated as any other Canadian citizen and receive the appropriate punishment for the offense committed.

 @8T25G6Cfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes as long as they have finished their sentence and only if it is safe back in their country.

 @8SZDMJJLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

It depends on the crime, if someone who was born here commits the same crime and doesn't get deported that's unfair

 @8SL3Y6ZLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

depending how serious and dangerous the crime was and the intention of the person comitting the crime

 @8S5RT57Liberalfrom Nova Scotia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RXHSB4Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

criminals should be detained in Canada if they commit a serious crime because the countries they are deported to might not have a strict detaining system. They should be detained in Canada, then after their sentence is over, they should be deported to their home countries.

 @8RK3LLCLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8RH48KWLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8R68FBSfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

they should serve their time in our country and eventually be released back into our country

 @8QWCF23Liberalfrom Prince Edward Island  answered…4yrs4Y

If they are a Citizens then they cannot be "deported" and are entitled to serve their time under our legal system. Work visa, landed immigrants, refugees, etc... should be deported for violent premeditated crimes. The circumstances need to be considered.

 @8QQCSWPLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

no i think giving them punishment like jail for sometime is better than being deport

 @8QLHRN2Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as it is safe in their own country intel then they will remain in our prison system.

 @8Q9QS39Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes but after they have served there sentence and also depending on the severity of the crime

 @8PXFNGVLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, if they have commited the serious crime as an adult and it is safe for them to return to their country

 @lilzzainfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

The crime happend in this country, so he has to get what he deserves, here. If the immigrant gets deported, you basically sent a bad person to another country where he's going to continue doing what he did. It's better to put him in jail or send him back but even there, he should be in jail.

 @8PDB7JYLiberalfrom Newfoundland  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8PBMBVRLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

it depends on the severity of the crime and they are our citezens now so they should not be deported in general because this is their country too

 @8JH88LPLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

If they commit murder they should be deported and also serve their sentence here

No, unless it is an act of terrorism or same idea. e.g. mass killings, etc.

 @9CMXZ9Nfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Depending on the crime commited, Yes. But if it's a harmless crime like stealing, tax evasion etc. I think it's best for the individual to be sentenced and do their time. If the individual entered the country illegally, It is fair to deport them.

 @9C8M2TNLiberalfrom Saskatchewan  answered…2yrs2Y

They should not because if they want to undo their mistake it's hard to in a diferent country

 @9C7RWCTLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, as long as it is safe for them to return to their country. If not, they should fid oh serving their sentence

 @9BY5TCLfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

They should be dealt with the same way that non-immigrants are dealt with if they do a serious crime.

 @99QGZ3ZLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99JXCT5Liberalfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y
