If they are citizens of Canada they should be tried as Canadians, if they are not yet they should be deported unless they won't be safe in their home country (ie. they are of an identity that will face persecution, they are personally at risk if they return, or if the punishment for their crime would be inhuman such as torture or the death penalty.)
@8VRTGD54yrs4Y
Depends if they have full citizenship or not
@8VLLX6H4yrs4Y
Depends on the crime. They are too strict on small offences. Onle crimes of a sexual or violent nature should be deported
@8VKF4694yrs4Y
Only if they have not served any time for their crime
@8VB9HNT4yrs4Y
Yes until they become permanent residents

If it is safe to enter their own country, but also depending on the crime. People who have committed more severe crimes that pose a larger threat to Canadian safety should be deported, but illegal immigrants should not be.
Depending on the type of crime committed
@8SYLG334yrs4Y
No, only if they have entered illegal unless it is unsafe to return to their country
@8RDRC964yrs4Y
Only if the crime is violent, sexual, or a hate crime.
@8R5BZB54yrs4Y
Yes, if they have not been granted citizenship, then they should be deported and not imprisoned on taxpayers dime.
@8QR7G7V4yrs4Y
Yes, depending on the severity. First degree murder and rape should be reason to send immigrants back to their original country as long as its safe to return, if its murder done in protection for themselves i believe they should have the right to stay in Canada
@8PZDRSH4yrs4Y
Case by case basis to be determined in a court of law
@8PV6S6S4yrs4Y
Depends on what the crime was and how you define a serious crime.
@8PRVVJT4yrs4Y
It depends on how harsh the crime is
@8PQSYFV4yrs4Y
No, they should serve their time or take whatever penalties any other Canadian would receive.
@8PKCWBB4yrs4Y
Only if it would be safe for them to return
@8PJFZL34yrs4Y
Honestly it just depends, there’s always two sides to a story
@8P5RSMF4yrs4Y
No, they should be put in jail in canada
@8J8TFDJ5yrs5Y
depends on the severity of the crime, how long they've been in canada and how safe it is for them to return
@8DSTBMM5yrs5Y
Only if these commit very serious crime (murder, sexual abuse)
I believe they should serve their sentence here in Canada because they are a citizen here now. Deporting them wouldn’t make sense because they need to face the consequences of their actions.
@9C7LBXWNew Democratic2yrs2Y
No, they should be treated the same as other citizens
@997KWH32yrs2Y
I feel this is something that should be determined on a case by case basis after serving their sentence.
@9863HW42yrs2Y
Did the person steal a candy bar or a child? There’s a difference
@8Q9HNRPConservative4yrs4Y
depends on their situation and why they committed it.
@8KSPPR94yrs4Y

@7PTCG384yrs4Y

@8WCFBXX4yrs4Y

@8QFCFP74yrs4Y
No, rehabilitate them and give them a path to citizenship
@7PTCG385yrs5Y

@7PTCG384yrs4Y
Yes, only for felonies of a violent nature
@7PTCG384yrs4Y
