They arent always using the money for good causes. also its been so long that people havent been directly affected anymore
@B2BCY2X4mos4MO
That they should work like the rest of people to improve their lives rather than rely on the government to pay them. I agree what happened was wrong but you shouldn't use the past as an excuse to improve your future.

I think that native funding should go to schools therapy and healthcare to promote the health of the dying community that is suffering from generational trauma that the government has cost.
@9LQ3KKVConservative1yr1Y
Why should they deserve our money. Give money to the victims of residential schools and the rest don’t get anything
@9GTQ2291yr1Y
They don’t do anything with the money. I have personally seen really messed up things that they have done. Like wasting an entire moose carcass, when many hunters aren’t even allowed to hunt them. Winnipeg is also filled with homeless people, and most of them are natives. Most, don’t contribute to society.

I believe that the government already sufficiently funds the indigenous people of Canada with their tax exemption, access to free post-secondary education, just to name a few.

Provide ways to help communities secure safe and lasting land, such as through direct funding for initiatives like housing projects or social programs, like education assistance (but not for free college or university education). Essentially, the funds should directly benefit the land and the people living within the community, rather than being misallocated or used by those not directly involved in addressing the community’s immediate needs. Right now, there is too much corruption in how the money is allocated.
@B43KKSZ1mo1MO
They are still just people and do not deserve any more or less funding than any one else. by giving them more funding and claiming that it is "equality" is not true. by gaining them more you are defunding equality.
@B42QWG4Conservative1mo1MO
They are people given the same opportunity as everyone else and should be given the same funding. Also, nobody has been directly affected due to it being long tuimwe ago
@B336MFM2mos2MO
Natives are already afforded such considerable breaks and lack of taxation in order to "reconcile" a past that will never be conclusively reconciled.
@B2YMX46Conservative2mos2MO
They are canadian and should be treated the same as all others canadians. Also life isn't fair for anyone.
@B2DX4673mos3MO
What do these people do to deserve more funding rather then others, especially when they are using this money on drugs and alcohol. They already have to many free and discounted things, so why would they need more funding.
@9ZXKX695mos5MO
Equity Concerns:** While the Yes position argues for more funding to Native American communities, one counterpoint could be the issue of **equity** for all marginalized or underserved groups.
@9Z9DKDQ6mos6MO
They’ve been getting handouts for 100 years and still haven’t done a thing. They don’t pay taxes and act like they aren’t part of Canada but then take the governments money anyway.
@9YM4YHWConservative6mos6MO
Enough is enough, I don't get help to be canadian but am sure burdened by the support of a minority group and the issues of the past that have nothing to do with today. They can be treated fairly as every other canadian, not special
@9YJ9RPL6mos6MO
They have been given billions of dollars a year for decades. Crime, drugs, and alcohol abuse have only increased. The problem is getting worse, not better. Money is not the answer.
@9GR8M7R1yr1Y
Personally I do not think it is fair, I understand what our country did to the Indigenous people was horrible but its not fair to be giving them thousands of dollars when everyone else gets nothing besides getting excessively taxed.
@9FKGRCH2yrs2Y
Since these people live in Canada, they too, live under the law of Canada. They too, should receive the same amount of treatment as the other non-First Nations citizens.
@B37MBM82mos2MO
weve done enough for them, if there land was so great before we had "taken" it why was there absolutely nothing there
@B24BC3Z5mos5MO
If you think they still need funding, you are saying that they are incapable of operating on their own like the rest of society, which is racism. They should have the exact same rights as any citizen of Canada
