Flagburning goes beyond free speech and should be a chargeable offence since it is an incitement to violence and tends to provoke violence and inflame, tensions and insight on rest, making it a potential public safety threat rather than your speech. The flag represents the sacrifices of soldiers and historical struggles and the identity of our nation. Burning it disrespect national unity, and dishonour those who have fought to protect the country. Free speech is not absolute and laws against hate speech, threats, and desecration of certain symbols, like gravesites, show that some symbolic actions can be restricted without violating fundamental freedoms. flag burning does not silence descent people can still express their views through other forms of protest without engaging in an act perceived as deeply offensive or inflammatory.

Burning the flag has no significant consequences, it is just the burning of material. Regardless of if one detests the action it should be protected as freedom of expression in a democracy.

You were born here, or chose to move here. Canada has given you the right to speak out against the government, disagree with current policies, laws, and regulations. Freedom of speech is not an excuse to destroy and burn the flag of your nation.
