Sanctuary cities put undo pressure on the resources of the city. Policing, housing, medical and educational infrastructure are compromised when a large influx of untraceable mystery people show up. Would you open your front door and just bring strangers into your house, feed them and clothe them at the detriment of your family members already living with you? The government of Canada is supposed to make all it's decisions with the best interest of it's citizens in mind. Not pet projects or virtue signaling. How exactly, does mass immigration make life better for the citizens of Canada and those that came in through proper channels?

One counter-argument to the position advocating for banning sanctuary cities is that they can enhance community policing efforts and improve public safety by building trust and cooperation with immigrant communities.
