Yes the government should but only for the highest income brackets, for instance income of more than 150k per year

the rich should be treeded like evrey other person that is not as rich as them evryone should be treaed the same in my eyes

 @9H6GJSNfrom Alberta  answered…1yr1Y

Do it reasonably and not take so much money from them as there are enough wealthy individuals in the country that if you do the math if you take a reasonable amount of taxes from all of them, the country would still benefit.

 @9FPBNFQLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Depends on the perception of the people. If middle income families are forced to go to a single vehicle while multi-Tesla homes are on the rise, the problem could be rooted in corporations willingness to spend budgets on high end items driving up prices out of the reach of the working class. Shareholders that have a large stake in a company tend to also behave like they are rich owners. While they squeeze every dollar out of a corporation, we are subsidizing wages. Taxing the corporations more is a disincentive to invest in Canada, and jobs move to where they are cheapest rather than most eff…  Read more

The rich should be forced to pay their taxes IN GENERAL. There are too many policies that benefit wealthier folk that the middle class and poor individuals with never have access to.

 @9F2MMCGLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

More for the rich, less for the poor. Rich people don’t need that much money, while the poor do, the rich can help the poor with their tax money

 @9F2HM74Liberalfrom Manitoba  answered…2yrs2Y

Decrease tax loopholes for major corporations and extremely wealthy individuals.

 @8S49CKXLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

yes, however don't make immediate plans relying on taxing the rich as they may leave the country interfering with plans they made relying off tax money from the rich

 @9CMFTM6from Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99VX6BLLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Have the same tax rates for everyone and erase existing tax loopholes from the rich.

 @942H7BWfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

A little, Don't make the rich too rich but also don't make them poor. Also lower taxes on the poor

 @93WP5NVLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

 @924HKTHfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

yes, but depending on how they earned their money and how much of it in question.

 @8ZX5HSVLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, so long as a clear definition of rich is created, and all potential loopholes are closed

 @8ZR4S7LLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, so long as the definition for "rich" individuals is clearly defined, and all potential loopholes are removed.

 @8ZMM6QQfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

I think there’s an amount of money that they make and give it to the poor

 @8YCLPYYLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

 @8VZPRHLfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I think they should but it shouldn’t be too drastic; maybe only one to two more percent.

 @8VRZKL9Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VRNQWMLiberalfrom New Brunswick  answered…4yrs4Y

They should add a new system that taxes corporations CEOs differently then someone working at Tim’s. It needs to be completely re-designed

 @8VRLBK4Liberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only the ridiculously rich people ; like big corporations owners. Or an alternative could be just paying their workers more

 @8VR3ZQZfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VQ6BTFfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8VQ45ZDfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I believe the tax rate should be higher for large corporations and remove all existing tax loopholes for those companies.

 @8VHLH4NLiberalfrom Manitoba  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only the very rich. Over $250,000 per year and close all tax loopholes for the rich and for corporations.

 @8VG85KRLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Raise taxes on people making over 300k annually, and increase taxes on corporations.

 @8VD6KYZLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes and lower taxes for citizens who make less than $75,000.00 per year.

Raise taxes on the rich as well as close all the legal loopholes that allow corporations to pay almost no tax.

 @8TKDP7Kfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TJ6L3Wfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TJ6F6MLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Keep current tax rates, but remove tax loopholes for large corporations

 @8TH4QX4from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I think they should tax the rich at a moderate level because It is not fair for the ones that work harder to pay taxes and take home the same amount as everybody else, I think the rich should get taxed the same amount but the poor should be taxed less.

 @8SYFJW2from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Simple remove all deductions and loopholes. Zero right offs--then you can adjust the real tax rates for income, property, products and services etc. appropriately

 @8S2Y83ZLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but we should slowly introduce it and make sure we don't make the tax too high or too low

 @8RPMRSSfrom Saskatchewan  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but the rich has to be defined more clearly. I would determine rich to be a median household income on $250,000 a year or greater

 @8RF5NCXLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8R757NSLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

does not need to be raised but we need to make sure that the rich are paying their taxes and not abusing loop holes in the system.

 @8QCZ35VLiberalfrom Nova Scotia  answered…4yrs4Y

high taxes on richer, middle on the middle class and low for the lower income.

 @8PRNML4Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No one should have billions of dollars... no one needs over ten billion

 @8LRQBNLLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8JZX9FWLiberalfrom Saskatchewan  answered…5yrs5Y

Only on the richest. As in over 1million a year or something like that.

 @8JTZBT2Liberalfrom British Columbia  answered…5yrs5Y

Taxes on the rich are good, however they could tax the top 5% maybe a tad more.

 @8HSVF9PLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…5yrs5Y

iv heard if you raise taxes on the rich they will leave and take the money. i do believe the rich could pay more but i also vote that if you are given a fine it should be based on how much money you make

 @9D36K4QLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Not so easy. We would have to overhaul many parts of the system, and it could affect the economy in lots of ways, so we should be cautious although it does have some truth to it.

 @9BJY5WNLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

yes but reasonably, if you earn more then 100,00k then yes, but if you earn lower then that then no.

 @99LGT5BLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

 @99FFVWCLiberalfrom Newfoundland  answered…2yrs2Y

Tax everyone evenly offer deductions for students and new workers who are becoming independents

 @98FPFSYLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but have them pay their reasonably fair share within a larger, sustainable tax system rather than have them pay for everything like Bernie Sanders wants them to, because there's a great risk of the system collapsing altogether if you tax the wealthy way too much.

 @97V8RHQfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

only the obcenely rich should be taxed heavily, the 1% is too low of a margin for income.

 @8Z7T33YLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes - but I would say to gradually increase taxes on the rich and lower them for the poor. For example, every year, taxes for corporations could increase .2-4% or remove a few tax loopholes.

 @8VGYSWPLiberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but I’m talking about being a extreme millionaire, and ESPECIALLY billionaires. People only having an income difference of 200-300grand should not have their taxes increased, but people like elon musk and jeffrey bezos (total billionares) should absolutely be paying higher taxes.

 @8VGXB8YLiberalfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

No, The rich supports potential jobs if we force them to leave with higher taxes. what will happen to the economy?

 @8V5V95KLiberalfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only for those with a personal annual income in excess of two million dollars.

 @8TMQR2Tfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Have a certain percentage of their yearly revenue by a person be taxed.

 @8TMP2YHfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Modest increase in income tax rate for the rich, eradicate all loopholes the rich or the large corporations may use to circumvent taxes, and reduce income tax rate for the lower and middle class.

 @95DH7PGfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but this is not an "end-all, be-all" solution which Bernie Sanders thinks it is. There needs to be multiple streams of revenue that work and help sustain government programs rather than one group being taxed more heavily than another.

 @9586ZCPRhinocerosfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94KHB92Liberalfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

Increase taxes on the rich and on derivatives trading, and lower taxes on the poor and middle class. Give tax credits to newlywed couples and increase the first time homebuyers and childcare benefit.
