Yes, but only for individuals making +500k a year as anything less is no longer rich due to the cost of living

 @8VVTQCPfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Tax the ultra rich not the ones that are earning a higher income (2000/year).

They should add a new system that taxes corporations CEOs differently then someone working at Tim’s. It needs to be completely re-designed

 @8VRLBK4Liberalfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only the ridiculously rich people ; like big corporations owners. Or an alternative could be just paying their workers more

 @8VMYP3Kfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

No. They work hard like everyone else. It’s not fair to make the rich fund those who are taking advantage of the system. For example, so many people scammed the system and collected CERB. Why should the people who didn’t collect get put on the hook for it?

 @8VLFQWZfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Tax rate should be the same % for everyone and higher for corporations with no loopholes.

 @8VL7RTLfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Tax massively rich corporations, with individual incomes over a certain point. Not necessarily low six figure incomes.

 @8VGYF6Tfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

Lower income people should not be in higher tax brackets because the rich can afford better tax representation and the ability to shelter assets. It should be more standard.

Yes meaning the ultra rich multimillionaires/billionaires who get away with paying no taxes

 @8TL8XYNfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

The rich should be taxed at 75% and any other group should pay little to no taxs

 @8TKVYXSCommunistfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and introduce a cap on the total wealth and assets a person or organization can own

 @8TH4QX4from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

I think they should tax the rich at a moderate level because It is not fair for the ones that work harder to pay taxes and take home the same amount as everybody else, I think the rich should get taxed the same amount but the poor should be taxed less.

 @8Q96VKDfrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Raise taxes on the rich in such a way that does not encourage moving of their wealth to other countries (e.g. increase tax on luxury goods as opposed to income)

 @8Q87LV7from Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8DDJ5JXfrom Alberta  answered…5yrs5Y

Why does it matter if they're rich or not? We're supposed to be treated with equality.

 @9CML4FDfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, a little bit and reduce taxes for the poor. Remove tax loopholes for large corporations

 @98WXKGQfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, the government must raise income tax rates until a robust, progressive model is achieved while simultaneously eliminating tax loopholes for corporations and the wealthy.

 @97QYQ2VCommunistfrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, and we should seize their assets and redistribute it amongst the people who work for them.

 @8QZS5YZfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @96XHRXVfrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

No, but there should be a limit on what they can charge for services and products, we don't need more money for the government, we need more money for the working class, and the best way to do it is making cost of living cheaper, if we all have money in our pockets we all can be properly taxed.

 @96QM73Hfrom Ontario  answered…3yrs3Y

basic income for all. free education. this helps to level the playing field instead of using taxation as the golden ticket.

 @96KD662from Alberta  answered…3yrs3Y

remove loopholes for corporations. don't charge tax based on how much money some one makes charge based on how much they actually have after their expenses for them/family.

  @DrEagleTalon from Indiana  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and remove all existing tax loopholes, deductions, or anything else that allows legal tax evasion.

 @52YRS68answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only the extremely rich exceeding $200,000 a year and raise the tax brackets for those individuals while abolishing the income tax for all citizens making less.

 @3GZTJR2answered…5yrs5Y

No, lower or remove all taxes for everyone as long as they donate to charities of their choosing between 10%-20% of their net income

 @4SNPK4Banswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, at time of writing I am fairly sure every country should raise taxes on the rich (of course, if I wasn’t fairly sure of that, this question would be impossible to reasonably answer given that I want my answers to make sense across different countries, since as far as I can tell this same question is being used for every country with the country name dynamically substituted, rather than using individual questions per country [for purposes of ongoingly testing this: I entered this answer on the France question])

 @9276939 from Pennsylvania  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but also lower taxes for the poor and remove all existing loopholes for large corporations.

 @7YFGPVT from Utah  answered…5yrs5Y

1) Eliminate citizen income tax, and restructure corporate earnings tax to a lower linear incrementing tax.(i.e. Set a bottom threshold of $10M annual gross profit at 2%, $50M at 3%, $100 at 4%... and cap at $100B at %15). With no loopholes, and assessed to any company that does business in the US, regardless of where the corporate HQ are and where products/services are generated, to avoid "Off shore" parent company strategy.

2) Simplify, but increase property tax for all entitles, civilian, local business, and corporations. This tax would also scale linearly.

3) Eliminate local and state sales tax and institute a national Value Added Tax dispersed between local, state, and federal proportionally

 @Ujustgotjosephdanswered…5yrs5Y

No, but eliminate all caps on taxable earnings and close all existing loopholes in tax legislation
