Nuclear power is the use of nuclear reactions that release energy to generate heat, which most frequently is then used in steam turbines to produce electricity in a nuclear power station. About 15% of Canada's electricity comes from nuclear power, with 19 reactors mostly in Ontario providing 13.5 GWe of power capacity. Proponents argue that nuclear energy is now safe and emits much less carbon emissions than coal plants. Opponents argue that recent nuclear disasters in Japan prove that nuclear power is far from safe.

Yes, and nationalize the industry but Indigenous communities should have final say on where nuclear energy plants are built
@9FLQZJLConservative2yrs2Y
nuclear energy plants are not a good idea because something can go really wrong
yes nuclear energy is our future need we need to put more money into it and our nuclear weapons' program
@9B274DY2yrs2Y
no and yes for military purposes but what if they use it for like threatening other countries
Only the Government should use Nuclear Energy.
@8Z3Q5FB3yrs3Y
yes but we should put more money into cleaner alternatives as well
@8YDGBWM3yrs3Y
Nuclear energy isn’t that bad it doesn’t do much to the environment but it should be handled with care because the Chernobyl accident happened because of a poor job of handling the power plant without as much care
@8QRN6CMConservative4yrs4Y
Yes, after a series of testing, and proper consistent checks of the nuclear plant's building, and its infrastructure to see if it is safe to be in use
@9C8VLDN2yrs2Y
Alex says yes Grady says no
use it for energy only not for war.
@99WWN672yrs2Y
I will only support use of nuclear energy if it is absolutely needed.
@98Q55G82yrs2Y
yes as long as we absolutly need to use it.
@97VV7LK2yrs2Y
most of us should know nuclear substance of weopons is illeagle and not intellagent the canadian military will never make it come to that if the opponent doesnt make it come to that. nuclear bombs have not been used since nagisaki,herishema.
@97PDJB82yrs2Y
Only if we find a way to make nuclear waste reusable.
I don’t really know what this means
@8WQV464Conservative3yrs3Y
only if not used in household and only used in a war that already has a nucellar warhead launched
@8VQ4XBKConservative4yrs4Y
I mean I don't really have a preference on the subject I lean towards moving forward to cleaner substances but still use.
@8VMP7G54yrs4Y

Huge YES. We have the easiest, cleanest ability to do this in Canada and Saskatchewan in particular. Put on up in north central Saskatchewan. Close to the mines and perfect spot for a nuclear reactor with all the lakes.. it perfect. Nevermind the fact we can have and should have cheap and extremely efficient power for our nation. They are our resources!!! Here’s an idea…. Let’s use them!!! Or we can import gas from other countries!!! How efficient and green is that… stop making everything about money and greed and let’s focus on livability, efficiency, and keeping our environment clean. Nuclear is the answer. Bar none. We all know and we have the science to back it up!
@8T45YHQ4yrs4Y
bomb the U.S. with nuke likee its hiroshima
@8R6LSYW4yrs4Y
kinda in the middle of both of these answers.
@95SHK28Conservative3yrs3Y
as much as it sounds nice I don't want another Chernobyl if we are gonna use nuclear energy there should be heavy precautions put in place with regular safety checks with emergency shutoffs and nuclear plants should be constructed properly as well
@8WYKKFL3yrs3Y
if it is used in a good way
@8WYJN2W3yrs3Y
Yes, as long as it is safe for our planet.
@B4FBQGW24hrs24H
I think there should be a balance between the use of nuclear energy and other alternatives such as wind, hydroelectricity, etc.
