Yes, only if it is abundantly safe to do so in the face of war, terrorist attacks, and long term for the environment.

Yes, and nationalize the industry

Other than fossil fuels we do not have another way to make electricity efficient enough other than nuclear. Wind and solar depend on the weather, geothermal isn't developed enough, and hydro doesn't work everywhere and takes up lots of land. nuclear can fill the niche of fossil fuels whilst all the others fall short.

nuclear energy plants are not a good idea because something can go really wrong

 @9F4F77YConservativefrom Alberta  answered…2yrs2Y

100% yes. Nuclear energy, when handled correctly, is a much cleaner energy than people think. Most of the radioactive material is used up entirely when producing electricity. The only products made from it is a small gram of radioactive material and distilled water.

I don’t support it because it could be fatal at any point and time, like what happened in Chernobyl. It’s dangerous because we are having more and more weather problems.

 @9BTK9THConservativefrom Ontario  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but there should be regular machine maintenance, corporate regulation, etc.

 @9BKSCBLConservativefrom Quebec  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes as long as the workers that work in the nuclear industry are strictly trained.

I am for nuclear if it can be done safely and can be guaranteed to 100percent contained if it was to have a leak

 @8QRN6CMConservativefrom Saskatchewan  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, after a series of testing, and proper consistent checks of the nuclear plant's building, and its infrastructure to see if it is safe to be in use

 @8NW26JBLibertarianfrom Quebec  answered…4yrs4Y

Odd that thorium, which is a next-gen nuclear energy source is lumped in with “no” on nuclear energy! Increase the use of thorium nuclear energy and explore widespread smaller scale fusion.

 @8JDYBC5Conservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes as long as there is a high safety protocol and if it is not fallowed the companies are subject to being shut down

We don’t have enough research on the topic so no. Also Canada isn’t known for having much nuclear resources so it would be way too expensive.

As long as we are able to find to find a way to reduce the level of radioactive waste being produced then yes

 @8WQV464Conservativefrom Saskatchewan  answered…3yrs3Y

only if not used in household and only used in a war that already has a nucellar warhead launched

I mean I don't really have a preference on the subject I lean towards moving forward to cleaner substances but still use.

 @8VN69CCLibertarianfrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

The regulations and standards, and the infrastructure involved in the nuclear power plants need to meet modern standards before this transition is possible. Including updating outdated nuclear facilities. The answer is yes, but I don't think its financially viable to make the transition to nuclear under the current federal budget.

 @8V97Z9QLibertarianfrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

The use of nuclear energy is fine but strong against the reproduction of it

 @8TX7JTCConservativefrom Ontario  answered…4yrs4Y

 @8TTSYGRConservativefrom British Columbia  answered…4yrs4Y

If it can be safely used maybe.. but like I’m pretty sure it’s already proven to be pretty dangerous and maybe not a good idea.

as much as it sounds nice I don't want another Chernobyl if we are gonna use nuclear energy there should be heavy precautions put in place with regular safety checks with emergency shutoffs and nuclear plants should be constructed properly as well

 @8TKJWFKConservativefrom Alberta  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, if the nuclear power stations are built a far distance away from major cities and suburbs.

 @heatherdvdprincessanswered…5yrs5Y

Yes, measures have been taken so it is now one of the safest sources of energy.

 @8QPG4TW from New York  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as safety requirements are maintained and strictly enforced.

 @8HL5YXT from Arizona  answered…4yrs4Y

nuclear energy 2 drawbacks one is the fallout that will render land around it useless the other is the united states does not have any long-term storage and does not have a way to reuse nuclear waste as of the time I am writing this.

 @8JRFRHX from Utah  answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, and drastically reduce regulations to allow nuclear power to become more profitable.
