Nuclear power is the use of nuclear reactions that release energy to generate heat, which most frequently is then used in steam turbines to produce electricity in a nuclear power station. About 15% of Canada's electricity comes from nuclear power, with 19 reactors mostly in Ontario providing 13.5 GWe of power capacity. Proponents argue that nuclear energy is now safe and emits much less carbon emissions than coal plants. Opponents argue that recent nuclear disasters in Japan prove that nuclear power is far from safe.

Find ways to make cleaner waste and make radiation more sustainable

So long as proper regulations and measures are applied to ensure the safety of public health and protocols are put in to ensure the best-case scenario in the event of a worst-case scenario.

Only if Nuclear Fission can be achieved. Nuclear power can be a great resource, but the risk potential is too high and we need to protect the land we have left
@8TBJ94Z4yrs4Y
I don't have enough knowledge of this subject to have a formed opinion
yes, as long as it is regulated
@8RMBWFL4yrs4Y
Yes, as long as it is safe and will do no harm.
@8R7LVHV4yrs4Y
Yes, but nationalize the industry & subsidize renewable energy.
@8PS3C2K4yrs4Y
don’t even know what that is
@8PJK4T84yrs4Y
Yes, as long as there is a way to prevent nuclear waste
@8PDRZ784yrs4Y
Yes as long as it is not a danger to the public and the people in the area are fully aware of the nuclear power plant.
@8NWSVZZ4yrs4Y
Only new tech like liquod thorium or molten fluoride
@8JPYMJ84yrs4Y
Only if it uses up old nuclear waste.
We should more invest into the research of nuclear fusion, as unlike nuclear fission, it wouldn't produce nuclear waste, and would also be far more powerful.
@8CTK7MV5yrs5Y
Yes but they need to be able to control it without having disasters
@9C56J4P2yrs2Y
yes but it should be regulated to prevent damage to environment
@9C2JMT92yrs2Y
There needs to be more definitive research
@98Q55G82yrs2Y
I don’t really know what this means
@8Y4ZK2S3yrs3Y
I don’t have an opinion because I don’t know what it entails.
Don’t know enough on this topic
@8VJ5W364yrs4Y
yes if regulated and operated safely
@8V97Z9QLibertarian4yrs4Y
The use of nuclear energy is fine but strong against the reproduction of it
@8V7JTGH4yrs4Y
Yes, however with extreme scrutiny on the handling of the core, rules, training, and emergency plans.
@8V5QQBQNew Democratic4yrs4Y
I need to be better educated on this before I can answer
@8SGP44H4yrs4Y
Yes, but there are better solutions
@8SD8G3X4yrs4Y
Yes and no. The use of Nuclear energy could be useful, if the correct alternative to Uranium is used (Thorium). But, we should prioritize renewable energy first, as creating enough nuclear power plants to deter climate change is incredibly unrealistic.

Small Modular Reactors are the future of cleaner energy production
@8WG9MDJ3yrs3Y
Yes, as long as the safety guide lines of the factory are followed
@8SLBSS84yrs4Y
I am unsure where I stand on this issue
@8JTF2R64yrs4Y
Yes, but should be under government regulation.
@7RGBCQB5yrs5Y
Yes, I'd prefer thorium nuclear.
