Yes, but there should still be privatized options or ways for someone to be expedited through the system when there is a critical need.

Have a discussion with provinces and territories, and come up with goals to address in the future years of the healthcare system to adapt it to the future.

Yes, the government should fund healthcare, but we should also require provinces to pay their fair share of the funding, and have the responsibility for maintaining the system that we have, rather than cutting it for austerity purposes and then asking the government for more money.

 @95DH7PGfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, provided that the provinces do the same, and there are updated standards put in place to make sure that cuts don't easily happen.

They should, but the provinces have to do their part as well. They can't cut services that are essential to people and cry for more help when it falls apart. They have to invest, as well as the Federal government/researchers, etc.

Yes, wherever necessary as the COVID-19 pandemic has shown that our medical systems could be better than they are right now/as well as being able to take care of older generations when they retire. But, provinces should also be pulling their own weight, as many have cut healthcare during the pandemic, leaving many more vulnerable.

I feel like it should have attention and definitely have money going towards healthcare. But I don't believe all of taxes/ money should be put into healthcare.

No additional spending but better distribution and less top heavy management in health authorities

 @9BK2RQ6from British Columbia  answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but have strings attached through the Canada Health Act, and allow negotiation with the provinces to come to a consensus.

Two tier healthcare like countries with better, more efficient and higher quality systems like Australia. No amount of money will fix the mess of our system. Nurses and doctors would take less pay for less stress

 @94C42JLfrom British Columbia  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, it's absolutely needed that healthcare will need a boost in the coming years. We simply can't continue doing what we've previously done with our healthcare system, and we saw a lot of the flaws exposed in the pandemic. But provinces also have to do their fair share, and can't cut/try to privatize a lot of essential services because of austerity measures.
