President Obama recently declared that the U.S. will accept 10,000 refugees from Syria. The U.S. has been under pressure from its Syrian allies to help out with the crisis in which 3 Million refugees have fled Syria in the past year. Those in favor of accepting refugees believe that the U.S. has a duty to join its allies in Europe and accept at least 10,000 refugees. Opponents argue that the U.S. should stay out of this crisis and accepting refugees from the Middle East leads to a risk of letting terrorists into our borders.

No more. Canada has already accepted 25,000 Syrian refugees. It is better to support peace in Syria so that Syrians can live in their own country.
@8TZ82WHConservative4yrs4Y
No The people of Canada should come first. Not the refugees.
@8S9JMB5Conservative4yrs4Y
Fix the problems in Canada before accepting other people in
@962GV76Conservative3yrs3Y
Yes but if they have a criminal record then deny them.
@95N6GWJConservative3yrs3Y
Yes, They should have good background checks and not be recieving government money
@94JV6RQConservative3yrs3Y
Yes, and extensive background checks and health status should be considered.
@93WH4G7Conservative3yrs3Y
Canada can barely support the citizens we have now. We don't need anymore people to come. The government should focus on providing for those who are already here; citizens of Canada and their well-being.
@93CNC6CConservative3yrs3Y
We should only accept a certain about of immigrants, because now the cities and the country in general is going to be filled with immigrants.
@936XVN6Conservative3yrs3Y
Yes, but only if they follow our needs for our country
@92YRTYTConservative3yrs3Y
They should be allow as long as they are doing things( enjoyment or schooling)
@92SBLVXConservative3yrs3Y
Canada must join the world in doing away with the rulers in Syria that cause the conditions that force refugees to flee. We can not solve all the worlds problems by having the entire population of such countries move here.
@8W8Y73SConservative4yrs4Y
After checking them and clearing that there is nothing bad about them, then yes.
@8W4LCHHConservative4yrs4Y
I believe we should be taking care of the homeless due to mental health and military and focus on getting our own people okay before we start helping other countries. I think we have lots of work we need to do first before we can help others/
@8VW4J8HConservative4yrs4Y
We should focus on ourselves first.
@8VVQHW6Conservative4yrs4Y
Accept immigrants but after screening
@8VLQY7XConservative4yrs4Y
We should focus on the people struggling in our country
@8VLFWLWConservative4yrs4Y
Yes but we should situate them in less populated areas across Canada to help grow small city industries
@8VH2TZWConservative4yrs4Y
Yes, but with rigid immigration requirements and approve less applications
@8VGK6CBConservative4yrs4Y
we have taken in too many already
@8VBY7CMConservative4yrs4Y
Accept a limited number and do extensive background checks
@8VBX58FConservative4yrs4Y
Yes but they must have relevant skills for the labour market. Relevant trades in need of skills should be priorities
@8V92GSWConservative4yrs4Y
depends on circumstances that are placed to whoever comes into canada
@8TX7JTCConservative4yrs4Y
Only if they were needed... personally I do not want to have an over population of refugees and suffer like the UK in the 70’s or Germany now...
@8TSH239Conservative4yrs4Y
With the current amount of jobs in Canada, and immigration occurring. We should ensure that we have a healthy balanced immigration to job policy to further reduce unemployment in our country over time or at least get it to a historic all time low.
@8TJ5WGMConservative4yrs4Y
yes but under certin circumstances
@8TCWLJBConservative4yrs4Y
yes but keep it on the slower side as alot of tax payers dollars are being spent on funnding for them
@8T7XYCQConservative4yrs4Y
only those with families and that are here to apply for a job
@8T7FJFSConservative4yrs4Y
Only people that are here to work for a better life
@8T4QR84Conservative4yrs4Y
Only families with extensive back round checks.
@8SPP4SJConservative4yrs4Y
yes, but we should accept fewer than 10,00
@8SLN66ZConservative4yrs4Y
I think that we should take in refugees but control and limit the amount coming in or our country will be overpopulated
@8SD2NX6Conservative4yrs4Y
We should accept as many refugees as we can but don't let their culture and beleifs take over our country
@8S73W7LConservative4yrs4Y
Yes, but only if they have sufficient English or French language skills
@8RS6FB8Conservative4yrs4Y
No, we have already excepted more than other countries and have done our part.
@8RJHBNBConservative4yrs4Y
They can’t come into our country and think they can rule our country the way they want it
@8RJB7QRConservative4yrs4Y
yes, and send help to small villages war crimes and blood is all they see. be the good peacekeepers we are and so proudly flaunt
@8RCQ9NMConservative4yrs4Y
We should be looking after our own homeless people first and then accept refugees.
@8QRW5Q2Conservative4yrs4Y
I believe that background checks need to be done but not many continuous checks
@8QRNKHZConservative4yrs4Y
Don’t know, tough question
@8QCGGMLConservative4yrs4Y
Yes but with significant background checks/vetting and continued monitoring. They should not be allowed to live generously off tax payer's money either. They need to contribute to society right away. And the amount of refugees yearly needs to be limited. We do not have the resources to support the whole world.
@8Q9BK3FConservative4yrs4Y
They should be from all over the world..why are we focused on Syria?
@8Q5CR7WConservative4yrs4Y
How about we solve the problem, remove the need for refugees
@8PRWKQNConservative4yrs4Y
allow some because I've seen a lot of refugees that end up homeless(fix the economy and taxes then once Canada is stable then we can allow a good amount of refugees to come in)
@8PHQQJTConservative4yrs4Y
No, but those living in Canada currently should be allowed to stay if they have had extensive background checks and monitoring for no terrorist connections
@8PFDTKFConservative4yrs4Y
I don't believe it should be completely banned, rather heavily restricted
@8P9TNPBConservative4yrs4Y
After an extensive background check, and if Canada has available space and resources to accommodate the refugees
@8NVVWBHConservative4yrs4Y
Refugees should be accepted only by charity of individuals not the state
@8LW485HConservative4yrs4Y
Yes, but proper vetting and minimal to no government financial support
@8KV74YYConservative4yrs4Y
i believe that we should keep the family's under watch for a year or so, and keep a closer eye on the singulair men that enter, as well as do back ground checks
@8KJ2KHPConservative4yrs4Y
Yes for community sponsorship only of families fleeing persecution
@8HQFZBLConservative4yrs4Y
yes but they shouldn't be funded by the government, they need normal Canadian living skills
@8HG95F4Conservative4yrs4Y
Once you have taken care of our seniors our veterans and our homeless
@8DTXS2FConservative5yrs5Y
Only if they contribute to society and accustom to the laws abs rules here. And they should work and pay taxes and contribute. And extensive checks need to be done. People who have trauma drain the system. Trauma of refugees needs to be considered.
@8D2PX3XConservative5yrs5Y
Yes, but we also need to help our own citizens who are homeless.
@8CM9FY3Conservative5yrs5Y
Yes, but only families, extensive background checks, and using a point system test for them to atleast know basic english and way of life in canada.
@8W4PH68Conservative4yrs4Y
No, because it spends a lot of money
@8VMH9MNConservative4yrs4Y
I think we should choose carefully on who should be accepted refugees to come to Canada. (check their background, information , etc.)
@8VDXS77Conservative4yrs4Y
Yes, provided we can verify the conditions they seek refuge from.
@8V485W3Conservative4yrs4Y
Deal with the refugees here already then bring more to smaller communities with background checks to build up snall towns and creat bigger cities in low population areas on canada
@8TYS8W2Conservative4yrs4Y
No, we should eliminate any opportunity for terrorists to enter the country AND No, there are too many immigrants
@8TVW68ZConservative4yrs4Y
Yes, but this question shouldnt be limited to solely Syrian refugees
@8FXMWGHConservative5yrs5Y
Yes, but less frequent & in smaller numbers.
@8VRMDNQ4yrs4Y
No, refugees should go to countries that are closer to their home country. That way if conditions improve in their home country they can return.
@8ZH59GG3yrs3Y
Yes as long as they go through the same immigration process and background checks as the rest of the immigrates.
@6HDD83R4yrs4Y
Only Syrian Christians and Jews, and liberal*, secular, heterosexual and asexual, centrist and rightist, religiously tolerant, and monogamist Muslims
* liberal Muslims as in Muslims who are more open minded about their sons & daughters marrying non-Muslims (e.g. Christians) or even converting to Christianity upon their marriage to their non-Muslim spouse (e.g. the first lady of Argentina who converted to Roman Catholicism from Islam, where she stated in an interview with La Nación newspaper in 2012, that her father is a liberal Muslim who did not object to one of Juliana's sisters marrying a Christian and the other a Jew)

@8NC6PB84yrs4Y
hell no because serial is a bad place and there are a lot of bad people there not all but a lot
@9375CLT3yrs3Y
yes, with intense background check.
@8LHHLQR4yrs4Y
No, provide aid to support a safe zone in Syria
@8KVCNQM4yrs4Y
We should accept immigrants only when we can fully take care of the citizens we already have in our country.
@8RW26DX4yrs4Y
Yes, once they gain proper citizenship.
@8KH79S24yrs4Y
Yes, but they should be doing background checks on all first.
@8J45YL74yrs4Y
Yes but not a limited amount and they should come through legally
@8HXMY824yrs4Y
Yes, if they become a citizen of the United States.
@8DPWTGP5yrs5Y
They should go through the legal process.
@8CR2TN85yrs5Y
Yes, if we have the resources available to split them all into different communities and monitor them.
@8CN7P7L4yrs4Y
Yes, but they need to come legally
@8BYLJPN5yrs5Y
This is a touchy subject because this could lead to an alliance and alliances can get us dragged into things we don't want to be a part of. I thing the right thing would be to assist them but only with extensive background checks.
@8VPPB5B4yrs4Y
if we check them and they arent terrorists
@8X8VVMH3yrs3Y
@9375CQF3yrs3Y
yes, with extreme background checks
