Tax cuts always sound great on paper, but I think it’s fair to question whether these numbers actually add up—especially when the deficit is already so high. At the same time, I get why people want relief from the cost of living, and the government probably does need to find ways to be more efficient. What bothers me is that there never seems to be a balanced, realistic conversation about trade-offs or what might have to be cut. I’d like to see less grandstanding and more honest dialogue about what’s truly possible, without the smoke and mirrors.
