Is it ever justifiable to prioritize political or strategic alliances over human rights and ethical considerations?

Political ideas and alliances should never be implemented or put in place at the expense of human rights being violated, or people suffering from human rights abuse. For example, countries still engaging with world trade with China, despite the fact ethnic minority groups are being forced into concentration camps, similar to what Hitler did, without even getting the opportunity to leave. It is disgusting to me that China still has done nothing for the environment, constantly severely abuses human rights of all Chinese citizens, in particular ethnic minorities, with brutal experiments and human rights abuses. World trade with China should be cut off, and all sanctions possible should be imposed on this country, they are the ultimate threat to world peace.

Should the fear of losing influence or damaging a relationship with an ally prevent a country from taking a stand on moral issues?
