Having said that there is a responsibility and an expectation that leaving a country of origin and moving to Canada involves adapting to Canadian laws and don’t expect special treatment. By all means practice your traditions customs and religions within the parameters of them being in line with established Canadian norms. Human rights are not negotiable; men and women are considered equals in Canada despite what your culture may practice
