Should hate speech be protected by freedom of speech laws?
Yes, because I don’t trust the government to define the boundaries of hate speech
Our current hate speech laws, and how lax they are, show no indication that the government works to do anything but protect people from heinous and exclusionary practices. Specific amendments to our charter could be made to be more concise on the allowance of criticism of government while still disallowing discriminatory speech towards general groups of people.
