When was a time you or someone you know stood against prejudice, and what lessons did you learn?

I stood against transphobia, I learned that a lot for the hate comes from misinformation and not even knowing what they are really saying.

What's one thing you wish others understood about a cause close to your heart?

 @9JCWJLH from Ontario  answered…1yr1Y

In regard to the current LGBTQIA+ discrimination, I wish others understood the importance of trans and queer folks having access to gender-affirming care and the education to understand the possibilities. When your experiences are different from those around you, it can be very isolating and difficult to comply with what others expect you to be. The pressures to fit the script don't allow for alternative lifestyles that may be better suiting those individuals. Having the resources to learn more about the terminology and alternative life choices that may be better suited allow individuals to live their best lives. They aren't here to impose their beliefs on your children, they only want to be allowed to be happy, understood and respected.
