Should the government increase environmental regulations on businesses to reduce carbon emissions?

I believe global warming is a natural phenomenon, hastened by humans or not it it does not justify the current regulations put in place. I believe the government should be trying to help businesses and everyday citizens incorporate more eco-friendly devices with out charging and taxing them enormous amouts.
