While there are certainly valid concerns and critiques regarding police conduct and the need for reform, a blanket call for abolishing the police may not be the most pragmatic solution. Law enforcement agencies play a crucial role in maintaining public safety, responding to emergencies, and investigating crimes. Instead of advocating for complete abolition, it may be more reasonable to push for comprehensive police reform and restructuring.
Alternative Approaches: Rather than completely eliminating police departments, we can explore alternative approaches to public safety. This could include… Read more

If you abolish the police, what happens when unrest occurs or crimes are committed who ya gonna call? our national security and the safety of our citizens should be our first priority.

Defunding the police means the force would be desperate and be more likely to hire corrupt individuals.

Police have the most life-threatening job on this planet, and the employees sacrifice their life everyday protecting their people. You would think that they would be getting paid great money but no. The LAPD couldn't even make it to some of their calls as they didn't have enough employees because of the severity of the job and terrible pay. Our police force should be getting paid way more.

The police keep the druggies in check and they keep the streets safe, our lives are in further danger without the police as they are an essential need.

As a Canadian police officer, I can speak from firsthand experience about the complexities of maintaining public safety. While the concept of reallocating funds from law enforcement to unarmed community responders may sound appealing in theory, the reality is far more nuanced. Defunding the police without a clear and effective replacement jeopardizes public safety, particularly in higher-crime communities. Instead, increasing funding for police departments to provide enhanced training, improve community outreach, and implement evidence-based reforms is a more effective solution.

Without the police there would be no control to law and order and no one to stop people commiting crimes.

I think this position is the most stupidest thing ive ever read. How are social workers going to handle a call that states there is an armed criminal that is killing everybody.
@9H2B3T51yr1Y
go ahead obolish the police but when you get kidnapped killed or stalked dont ask the police ask yourself why
@9FTW448Conservative2yrs2Y
I think its ridiculous that people are wanting to defund the police considering the fact that they are the only ones who keep law and order. I believe the majority of the people who say defund the police have committed multiple felonies or are thinking about it . because there is no other reason too
@9FNK3CB2yrs2Y
I think the police should only be defunded if they are policing people based on race and cultural backgrounds.

without the police we would be in a worse position to fight crime so the people saying get rid of the police probably are criminals, crazy or don't like paying taxes for hireing police

the police risk thier lives and serve our people, keep us safe, cival, and much more, defunding or abolishing will lead into anarchy
@9G2J82M1yr1Y
I think that more money should be spent towards improving the Polices equipment which helps make the place more safe.
