Defunding the police would mean that they wouldn't be able to protect the community as well as before.

We need to make Canadians feel more safe in their neighborhoods because crime rates, theft, and murder has gone up and the Liberals have done nothing about it.

Police have too much on their plate and funds should be reallocated to other services that can deal with specific problems like homelessness

 @9LX7879from Ontario  disagreed…11mos11MO

Name one time the cops did anything that actually and demonstrably improved your life. Every cent we spend on policing is money that could be going to address the root cause of crime in the first place.

The more police are funded the more we walk into a police-state, people do not commit crimes because they are "fun" they are committed because the people who do it believe that there is no way out of poverty.
Funds should be redirected to help people feel less impoverished and better serviced/helped accurately.

Because the “defund the police” movement has not just resulted in smaller police budgets, it has also resulted in lower police morale, leading to a wave of police retirements and resignations. Now, police departments are worried about having enough officers to keep their communities safe.

The police are a historically oppressively and violent government-run militia that have been given far too much leeway in modern society, leading to a targeting system of minorities and non-violent offenders.

While the police force is an important part of our society, a reason why many resort to crime is due to the lack of support people recieve.

 @9F9VJ8Yfrom Ontario  disagreed…2yrs2Y

I think that the police should be defunded because there is so much money that goes to the police and there is so much bias within, the community.

 @9F8TSR4from Manitoba  disagreed…2yrs2Y

We need more social services rather than police who we discriminatory and bias towards the marginalized people of Canada

If you abolish the police, our crime rate would sky rocket, our police are the only thing that keep our nation safe. without them it would be crazy.

21% of Canadian households own guns. Any one of them could decide to break the law with no consequences whatsoever
