The police protect the public from dangerous criminals and without the police having the resources they need, crime would go up significantly.

This will cause criminals to act with impunity, as the average person will not be able to stop them.

Crime rates have gone up, Canadians are becoming more scared, and the Liberals are making Canadians even more scared by defunding the police. Nobody can be safe until we fund the police more and more for the safety of Canadians.

the police is what maintains order and the functionality of society and should be funded accordingly.

People will die. So many people will be twenty times more unsafe. It will become a scary world without ordere

If we defund the police we will not have the protection services to us. Police are here to protect, sure there’s issues, but defunding will lead to far worse protection

I don't think we should entirely defund the police but that we should redirect that funding towards community and social programs, and that we should retrain the police on how they respond to crime and how they interact to the community because people shouldn't be scared and hateful of the people that are supposed to keep them safe. Most people aren't intrinsically bad, and crime is a result of pre-existing social conditions such as class etc.

More and more people are showing how they’re being mistreated by the police via social media. The police are painting themselves poorly and many people who are poor, on drugs, First Nations do not feel safe in the presence of a police officer. Police funding increases every year yet our drug, and crime rates also increase. Defunding the police and funding social programs are the answer

Tent communities in the cities, drug abuse and epidemics, these are not committed or occur because people are intrinsically "bad" or make poor decisions it is because the government has failed them
