Only legal citizens should be allowed to vote because citizenship represents a deeper commitment to the country, and voters should have a long-term stake in its future. Non-citizens may not fully understand or care about the nation's laws and policies in the same way citizens do. Allowing only citizens to vote ensures that the people shaping the nation's future are those who are invested in it, protecting national interests and maintaining the integrity of the democratic process.

If you are a legal citizen of this country, you have a vested interest on what happens.
If you are here on a visa, you are a temporary resident of Canada, you will leave at some point. Citizens should never have to deal with decisions made by people who will be gone in 5 years.

Canadian citizens should be eligible to vote. Those that hold citizenship in a nation should be the ones guiding the elected officials

What about the legal citizens who don't contribute to society, i.e., we should think about value the voter contributes towards the overall community society before giving them a say.
